Just a couple of days ago, we reported that Jon Gosselin and Hailey Glassman had broken up. It now seems the father of eight is trying to make amends with his ex-girlfriend, while also repairing his strained relationship with Kate.
Jon talked to a small crowd Sunday night in New York at an event sponsored by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s organization, This World. During the public dialogue with the celebrity Rabbi, the reality star, 32, said, “I think I’m just misunderstood. I’m not a fame seeker. Everyday I look in the mirror and I wonder [why I'm famous]. I don’t sing. I don’t dance. I’m not a Nobel Peace Prizewinner. I just had eight kids and I had a show on TLC.”
Jon once again said he plans to ask estranged wife, Kate Gosselin, to forgive him. “I want to apologize to Kate in private,” he said. “I’ll apologize to her for openly having relationships in the public eye. That was a huge mistake, because if she would’ve done that to me, I would have been extremely pissed off. Not because our relationship is over, it’s almost like a stab in the back. And now that I think about it, it was a very wrong thing to do. I definitely regret it.”
When it came to Hailey, Jon said he was taking the advise of the Rabbi, who doesn’t think neither he nor Kate should be dating until their divorce is final. He however hopes to reconcile with Hailey in the future. “We decided not to take a break, just slow things down, until I get through my divorce and I know everything is settled and okay. I don’t want another failure in my relationships. I don’t want to make the same mistakes I made with Kate, with Hailey. I would just be repeating the pattern over again,” he said.
It is telling that Jon makes a statement to the ‘public’ that he’d like to apologize to Kate in ‘private’. It is also very telling that he thinks he can undo all the harm he has spent months unleashing on his image in one fell swoop.
News of his personality change might be different if he at least appeared sincere, but the situation with Hailey seems contrived at best, shedding doubt on all of his other claims of deep soul searching and improvement.
As it is, Jon still seems hell bent on winning the ‘victim of the year’ award. Switching his gears to a ‘victim who regrets’ doesn’t change much. After all, just days prior to releasing this brand new version of himself on the world, he was telling the cameras and reporters how Kate had refused to keep the dogs he so dearly loves (but couldn’t be bothered to find a home where they could live with him) and had even thrown out all of their dishes. This was an obvious mission to denigrate her and victimize himself yet again.
Jon doesn’t get to announce that he wishes to apologize to Kate in private while still running her down in public and be believed — in either case.
Jon is a scumbag! He already apologized before to Kate publicly then continued the same crappy behavior. He is a dirt bag who deserves complete failure and to be just another flash in the pan. I wish the best for Kate becuase clearly she will be the bread winner in that family. She is the only one with brains and who truly loves her kids!
I’m confused, is he taking the Rabbi’s advice not to see Hailey or is he going against it and just slowing things down? I knew he wasn’t going to dump her. He’s the kind of guy who can’t be alone for 2 seconds. Plus he needs her as a mouthpiece to keep both of their ugly mugs in the press.
How is it he realizes NOW that throwing multiple women in Kates face was a mistake? What changed to make him think that? He’s not listening to the Rabbi, so it can’t be that. Why is the Rabbi even giving him a public forum to air his dirty laundry?
Kate is just as bad, going on the morning talk shows crying all of the time. Who’s at home with the kids? She obviously can’t travel with all of them.
His biggest mistake was raiding the family bank account. Did he honestly think he was going to be able to keep the money? What a dumbass. He’s impulse driven and can hang with a 22 year old b/c he’s at the same maturity level. You would think he would be interested in a woman who would at least have the maturity to deal with the complexities that come with dating a guy w/ 8 toddlers. This chick is going to run to the media every time her feelings get hurt, which is constant, from what she has said.
The only reason why he’s famous is due to the attention he’s drawn to issue and disasterous outcome of fertility doctors being allowed to implant more than one human embryo. Was Kate even inferitile to begin with? I doubt it.
I’ve come to the conclusion that Jon Gosselin is functionally retarded.
And that’s all I’m gonna say about that.

So, he thought it was the right thing to do before? What the heck is the matter with this guy? Just a wonderful role model for his children.
As for Kate doing her book tours and such – someone has to provide for this family. At least when she is home, she is with her kids – not out at the fence talking to the paparazzi.
