Lynne Curtin of the Real Housewives of Orange County and her husband Frank might have to declare bankruptcy.
The couple has dealt with several financial hardships in the past year, which included some very public evictions, and a million dollar lawsuit judgement against the couple.
The OC Register reports the couple was recently in court so that a real estate investor who won a $1.26 million judgment against them could check out their assets. “Everyone thinks because of the show we’re gazillionaires,” Lynne said after coming out of the court.
“When the economy turned we lost all of our money in real estate investments. We’ve been trying to get back on our feet ever since then,” added Frank Curtin.
Lynne and Frank appeared in court on Wednesday under the threat of arrest. As we previously reported, a Superior Court Judge issued a bench arrest warrant for the couple when they failed to attend a hearing in the case last month. The bench warrant was however set aside as the Judge gave them a chance to show up yesterday.
The $1.26 mil judgment was for a real estate investor who said he wasn’t paid after lending the Curtins money for projects that didn’t pan out.
Franklin Casco Jr., the attorney for the Curtins said they would try to resolve the case “informally,” but maintained filing for bankruptcy is an option they are considering.

ummmmmm, maybe a little less plastic surgery, getting a job and doing her jewelry on the side, making her kids contribute to their own support by getting jobs, and moving to a less expensive place (apartment vs. house?) in order to get back on their feet??? You’d think when they were reduced to sleeping on a mattress on the floor, they would have come out of their stupor long enough to realize they were BROKE. (Having no bed is always a clue.) They are irresponsible grifters who contribute absolutely nothing to society. And just think- they’ve spawned another generation of unproductive users.

Didn’t these people give their unemployed slug daughter an expensive luxury car on television a few seasons ago? Where do they get the balls? I feel sorry for the plaintiff, along with previous landlords. They are never going to get a dime. And enough with the tacky cuff bracelets. Do people really buy these things? Additionally, I want Lynne’s mirror – the one that tells her she looks good.

I think the reason she doesn’t have a blog is that to much negative information about her financially was coming out. People she and her husband screwed over and there grifting activities.
Yes, Lynn and her husband are not so great with their finances. But I feel for sorry for them. I’m sure they never thought that they’d be in this position and to go through this while America watches. How sad. I don’t feel she is as fake or mean as the other housewives – she’s just not that bright. I hope things turn out for her. And what’s up with Gretchen’s unsolicited advice? She could just back down when Lynn started to cry. Come on, did that really have to happen while they were filming?
Christina, I agree with you and your comment about her mirror is too funny. To hear her opening line on this show and then see the way they spend money on plastic surgery is insulting and they don’t owe me money. I can’t feel sorry for a family that gets evicted numerous times and doesn’t work.

I actually feel a little sorry for Frank. He has obviously not been upfront with Lynne about their finances but what a load he has had to carry with a selfish wife and two spoilt daughters.
Now he is living in a motel because his wife does not think their many many years of marriage is worth working on let alone supporting her husband in finding a way to deal with all this and perhaps learn from their mistakes.
Talk about selfish – stand up and face your problems – oh wait, let’s just leave it all for Frank to work out – seems like he has been carrying the three of them and their selfish habits for way too long.

He was a true friend and the kind of person you could depend on when things got rough. He loved to fish and always couldn’t wait to take you whenever he could. He made time for you and was a great dad. I remember him renting a small boat in Newport one weekend and you two just anchored in the middle of the harbor and fished all day. Lynn needs to be more involved in what Frank is doing instead of letting him handle all the financial issues…that never works..for anyone no matter where they live and her girls need to get a job and contribute to the family..even if it is just to support themselves to take pressure off the parents while they get their crap straight. Frank needs to grow up.
