It was eight minus Kate night on Dancing With The Stars as Kate Gosselin was finally sent packing after five weeks of awful dancing.
Despite having been saved for five consecutive weeks with low scores, the Jon & Kate Plus 8 mom ran out of luck on Tuesday night. Kate found herself in the bottom two alongside Pamela Anderson and her partner Damian Whitewood.
Once it was announced that she would be the one going home, Kate looked a bit stunned. “I need a minute,” she said as she wiped tears from her eyes. While emotional and speechless, her partner Tony Dovolani, who was shown fighting quite a bit with Kate this season, stepped in, saying: “You know what? I’m very proud of Kate.” He continued, “I know she gets a lot of criticism I give her all the credit in the world for showing up. As exhausted as she was, she still showed up every single day.”
Kate, 35, then added, “I had the opportunity [to do this show]. I’m very, very honored to have been here. I love everyone that I met. It was a great experience.” When asked what she had to say to her fans who kept her on the show for five weeks despite her low scores, she added, “Wow, thank you for believing in me, probably more than I believed in myself.”
In a later interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kate shared that though she is okay with leaving the show, her eight kids however “will be upset, definitely,” she said. “They will be shattered, in fact.” She said she is not “letting them watch” her elimination episode, so that “they’ll be OK. They’ll be glad to have me back. I’m thrilled to have been here and obviously going back to my kids is always a wonderful thing.”
Allrighty then Kate. UnFortunately this will not be the last we see of Kate. As we recently reported, she has two upcoming reality shows with the TLC network – Twist of Kate and Kate Plus 8.

Always with the kids, Kate there is more to life than being on TV, the kids will be upset when she is eliminated, KATE, kids upset??? Yeah it was the only time that they could see their mom without her yelling at them They want their MOM!
Now she can do all the things that the nannies have been doing with the kids, all the things that she wished she could be doing instead of being in LA, but we all know Kate, she will soon abandon the kids once again in te4 pursuit of additional fame, I mean working to provide for her kids, she is a single mom after all

I don’t even understand how she got signed on to two new shows, it baffles me because this crankypants doesn’t even have a good personality, she is majorly bitchy and whiney and cranky, who would want to watch her?
@ Rita…that’s just it….TLC is a ratings whore just like everyone else. With her, they give her a couple of shows, people hate her, people talk about her.
What’s that saying? There is no such thing as BAD publicity.
Shame on you TLC for continuing to promote/support worthless pieces of shit like Kate Gosselin. Why don’t you just go all the way into the rabbit hole and give “circus freak balloon tits” Heidi Montag her own show? Sheesh.
Oh, I’m sure the kids will be shattered. I don’t know a little kid out there who prefers to have their mother with them everyday over working cross-country to be seen weekly. The poor kids! (rolls eyes)

It was a huge sense of relief when Kate left last night. It’s like getting rid of that old moldy piece of whatever in your fridge.
If the kids are “shattered” (yeah, right) they’ll get over it. Just like all the other things their stupid parents have done to them.
I agree, next is Jake. His dance was just gross. Yuck, he needs to leave and hopefully he’ll take that Vienna thing with him.
I was surprised she cried so much. I don’t watch the show, but caught the end while waiting for Lost to start.

I imagine the children have been “shattered” by many things in their short lives. Having mom finish DWTS after five episodes is probably low on the list.
The kids are shattered because “mommy dearest” is back. Poor kids, if just seeing on her on tv ruins my day I can’t even imagine how awful it is to have this shrew for a mother. She should have left 5 weeks ago.

I was wishing so much that she would thank Tony. He had to put up with her for longer than he should have had to and he was so nice about it and had nice things to say about her last night. She always makes it about her.

Even though I am sorry that Kate got her feelings hurt, I still don’t see how she stayed on as long as she did. She was totally stiff in her dancing and I know I could swing better than that, and I am 56 years old. It looked like a train wreck to me. Maybe she can get a real job and take care of business.
Ugh, good. I’m so sick of seeing the drape waist costumes, garish makeup and Lil’ Bo Peep hairstyles. For someone who acts like she’s got brass balls, it didn’t take much for her to fall apart and cry like a 10 yr. Old. Did she honestly think she would survive much longer?
There are so many contestants I can’t stand on that show it’s hard to decide who should go next…. Jake, Pam, the woman who keeps congratulating herself for being fat….
I’m surprised she lasted this long. She should have been eliminated much sooner, she was awful.
#7 – Michelle You obviously know more than the judges, as they thought she was awful too. I couldn’t believe all those tears. Guess she worried she wasn’t going to have an outlet to continue her “poor, single parent me’ for us all to continue to listen to. Maybe if she down sized and quit paying for nannies, and lived like many of us REAL single parents, she would actually know what it is really about. Poorest excuse I have ever seen for a single parent, but then I keep forgetting that she is the ONLY woman to have 8 children!!! To all of Kate’s Fan’s – Running around the country without your children is a great way to raise them, isn’t it?
