Breaking news – Life&Style is now reporting that Bravo has fired Danielle Staub from the Real Housewives of New Jersey.
The magazine doesn’t give a reason for the firing as an insider tells the mag, “Danielle was told that she would not be returning for a third season.” Adding that Danielle finding out she was fired “came as a complete shock, and she thought she was definitely going to return to the successful Bravo series.”
This might be the reason Danielle mentioned she was working on a reality show for herself a week ago. The timing of this also makes sense as the 3rd season of the NJ Housewives will likely start filming any day now.
Bravo did not have a comment for this news, telling Life&Style, “Bravo does not comment on casting of upcoming seasons of Housewives while current seasons are still airing.” Danielle’s booking agent also had “no comment” on Danielle’s status on the show though Danielle was likely the one who leaked this story.
Could this have to do with the lawsuit Danielle planned against her castmates? Or the threats from her co-stars that they would not return if Danielle did? UPDATE – Wanted to add that Life&Style has always proven to be a very reputable source when it comes to Housewives news.
UPDATE #2 – HollywoodLife is now reporting that a source close to Danielle says the firing report is just a rumor. “Danielle has no clue if she’s signed on for season three, none of the girls do,” says the source, adding that “there aren’t any firm negotiations going on until mid-September.” Based on track records, I am more inclined to believe the Life&Style story.
UPDATE #3 – Danielle is speaking out on the firing rumors in a statement posted on her twitter page. She doesn’t confirm or deny the firing, only giving out a cryptic message.
“Actually, I’m not even thinking about season 3 right now as I am considering many incredible options that have been presented to me,” said Staub. “Right now I just want to let fans know that we have a fantastic finale coming up next week and explosive reunion shows on August 30 and September 6. Don’t worry next year, I’ll still be the one you either love to hate or hate to love.”

UPDATE #4 - PEOPLE magazine, arguable the most reputable entertainment outlet around, says they have learned Danielle “is likely leaving the show after the end of Season 2 and is not expected to participate in a third season.”
UPDATE #5 – RadarOnline is also giving details of Danielle’s proposed spin off show which a source tells them is being produced by Sirens Media, the same company behind the Real Housewives of NJ.
“A spin off is in the works,” a source told Radar. The deal is still in talks while a source says it will “loosely reflect the character she started on the Real Housewives and the future of her career, her high-profile life, her kids, her being a ‘mom-ager.’ But she also has a normal life with her assistant and the whole team surrounding her.”
So it seems Bravo might be firing Danielle to make way for a spin off show for her a la Bethenny Frankel.

This will not phase Jafar, Danielle, Beverly, or whomever. She’ll do like she always has, and pick up and move on to another community, and play her game all over again. A new town, a new name, it’s all the same to her.

Wonder if Bravo found out that her friends on the other side of her arrest were looking for her? Who has something like that in their past goes on national television, and talks about it. I don’t know if the show will suffer without Danielle, though I’d like to think not, but I dvr it and fast forward through all of her segments. When she’s been in a scene with the other wives and they cut to her commentary, I fast forward that too. I’m so done with the prostitution ho-ah freak show – its old really. New week, different story, but with the same end game in mind. “I’m Danielle! Worship me, feel sorry for me, look I’m the greatest mother, my kids are better than yours, I’m adopted, I’m a saint, love and light, I’m shy, be my new friend so I can mooch off of you, everybody picks on me, I don’t need your friendship, I have TONS of friends anyway, I’m scared, I will cut you…” Rinse, repeat. Yawn… O-V-E-R I-T.
Please don’t bring her back, I won’t watch but I’ll be forced to stop watching Bravo altogether because I won’t be able to face myself in the mirror due to the shame of watching a network that continues to feed this narcissism as she exploits her children for her own eventual gain. She doesn’t want her kids to suceed for them, she wants them to suceed so she can continue to be associated with a celebrity status and be financially supported.

after seeing the previews for next week’s show with and Danielle in bragging about how her Mafia has guns during her meeting with Caroline, Bravo should RUN AWAY from this woman. I’m sure it was a us or her conversation somewhere. There are storylines without her – about family, finances, children, that I’d rather watch.

The only RH show I respect is RHOOC because although the ladies have their differences they still filmed events together. In the other RH shows, the ladies are divided and film separately, which is pointless.
IS DANIELLE STILL GOING THROUGH WITH THE RESTRAINING ORDER? or IS THE DECISION BASED ON HER UNPREDICTABLE BEHAVIOR?
I guess that since the other RH said the reunion was crazy we will have to wait to find out why she was fired.
Maybe they’ve offered her a chance to ‘look’ for her real mom and have Bravo follow her.
If Danielle was fired (please God!) I will happily continue to watch RHNJ. She was a source of irritation to me to the point that I stopped watching for awhile. Then I missed knowing what the other characters were up to so I went back. Hopefully season 3 will be Sans Danielle. She’s just plain crazy. I mean, certifiably.
