Kim Kardashian: Ciara Convinced Me To Do Music, Plus Song Panned With Bad Reviews

According to Kim Kardashian, the world can thank her BFF Ciara for unleashing her singing abilities on us and inadvertently driving up the stock of ear plugs.

Days after releasing her first music single “Jam,” which has been panned with extremely bad reviews by the way (more on this later), Kim dishes on how the song came about on Sunday’s all-new episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York. And get this, Kim, 30, had to be talked into recording the song by her pal, Ciara.

“I’m so shy,” states Kim when Ciara informs her that record producer The-Dream is anxious to work with her. “I’d be so nervous to get into a studio and sing in front of other people, especially The-Dream.” Ultimately, Kim decides to go ahead with recording the song.

Meanwhile, days after the debut of Kim’s song, she has become the laughing stock of the world music industry as there seems to be a collective agreement that Kim’s voice and music, well how do we put this delicately, kind of sucks. Below are some of the not so rave reviews for Kimmy’s song –

Popdust – “The heavily flanged Kardashian sounds barely engaged with her own song.”

Crushable – The single is “laughably bad and nearly unlistenable.”

Neon Limelight – “What really kills the song are the horrid vocals. Kim coos through the song lifelessly singing about taking shots and dancing the night away at her favorite spot. Is this club filled with zombies? They’re the only creatures she’s courting with that monotonous tone.”

Yahoo Music Blog – “So…is it any good? In a word, no. In two words, HECK no. More like “Turn It Down,” I say. It basically makes Paris Hilton’s “Stars Are Blind” warbling like something by Janis Joplin, and could probably even make Heidi Montag cringe (if Heidi was actually facially capable of cringing, that is).”

For those who want to take another gander at the song, it is below, but please don’t say we didn’t warn you.

The new episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York airs Sunday at 10 p.m. (EST) on E! Kim’s music video will also debut that night on the network.

TELL US – SO DAYS AFTER THE FIRST LISTEN, HAS KIM’S SONG GROWN ON YOU YET?
