Big Brother 13’s Cassi Colvin found herself on the chopping block after the Veteran alliance, well mostly Rachel, decided she was a threat.
And perhaps they were right. Unlike most players who play the Big Brother game, Cassi was loyal to her alliance till the end, unwilling to tell the others what they wanted to hear and even refused to campaign against her partner Shelly to stay in the game. Not surprisingly, Cassi was evicted from the BB13 house last Thursday in an unanimous vote.
In a new interview with DigitalSpy, Cassi reveals if she really thinks Rachel is jealous of her, why she refused to campaign against Shelly (she’s not aware Shelly back stabbed the alliance) and reveals what she would have done differently. Excerpts from her interview below –
There was a lot of discussion about girls in the house being jealous of your looks. Do you think that’s what was really behind Rachel’s dislike for you?
“Honestly, that belief was brought to my attention several times and I was the last to give any credit to that being the case. I think Rachel’s biggest issue with me is that I am a girl [who’s] comfortable in my own skin and happy with who I am on the inside when I don’t think she has found herself yet. Also, I think she was intimidated because she knew that I wouldn’t be her minion because of the Brenchal union or her experience in the game. I feel that I was the most independent newbie, the one least likely to let their promises of safety throw me off guard and make me easy to sway – I have my own mind.”
You said that you didn’t feel you could campaign against Shelly because you two had become so close. Do you feel that relationship was worth potentially giving up $500k?
“Shelly and I always said it was our worst nightmare to be put on the block together. We hoped to make it through the duos and golden key period intact. She was the only person in the house that my trust in never wavered with. Because I respect and adore her so much, I had nothing negative to say about her. Any speaking I did on my behalf after nominations was never to portray myself as a better option to keep in the house but only to remind people of what I had to offer in the game. I feel pretty confident that my pleas would have been to no avail because from a gameplay standpoint at this point in time, I am the bigger threat. I don’t think my campaigning or lack thereof affected my chance at the prize and I still left with my integrity and no regrets.”
If given another chance to play the game, would you have done anything differently?
“As cautious as I was from day one with what I said and who I said it to, I definitely could have been more tightlipped. I think a lot of the newbies recognized that I was ready to play from the start because I was so outspoken and honest. This made it easy for me to become the scapegoat for the things we were all feeling.”
The newbie alliance seemed pretty solid in the beginning but crumbled soon after, with two members flipping over to the other side in the first week. What do you think went wrong there?
“Although unspoken, the line was clearly drawn coming into the house with new versus old players and unfortunately rather than the newbies realizing that this was a golden opportunity to use our number advantage to our benefit, they cowered to intimidation because of the veterans’ experience in the game and relationship with one another outside of the house.”
You attempted to align yourself with the veterans after the first elimination. Is this something you always imagined you’d have to do at some point in the game or was going to the other side just a last-ditch effort to stay in the game?
“The veterans actually approached Shelly and I with the proposal of keeping one another safe. In my mind, it was never an alliance nor did I have any intention with aligning with the veterans as a whole. For me, it was simply a deal to keep Shelly and I safe for the time being, hence why I encouraged other newbies to put Brendon and Rachel up because they were the biggest threat in the game and it wasn’t an option for myself because my word is my word. But further on down the road, I would have been interested in aligning with Jeff and Jordan.”
A live eviction episode of Big Brother will air tonight on CBS at 9/8c during which host Julie Chen will reveal a new twist! As we reported last week, the eliminated HGs are being sequestered. When you add in Evel Dick’s early departure, it’s all but certain there will be a twist to bring back one of the evicted HGs.
Up for eviction tonight are Dominic and Adam. And thanks to Danielle’s shenanigans and all around bad game play, it’s all but certain Dominic will get the boot. Dominic is however not giving up just yet as he is trying to sway the newbie votes (Kalia, Shelly and Porsche) his way. He seems to have Kalia’s vote but will Shelly, who claims to be feeling very guilty for backstabbing her alliance, and Porsche vote for him to stay? We will find out tonight. Once again, here’s to hoping a newbie wins tonight’s HOH so there is a desperately needed shift of power in the house!
