DWTS: Pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy And Chelsie Hightower Are Out; Bachelor’s Sean Lowe And American Idol’s Kellie Pickler Are Reportedly In

Ugh. Two of my favorite Dancing with the Stars pros have revealed that they will not be participating in the upcoming season. I mean, my interest level wasn't that great to begin with… but still… now it's nearly non-existent.

According to TMZ, Maksim Chmerkovskiy decided not to dance this season, to pursue other projects, and broke the news to producers a few days ago. I imagine they're still crying in their Cherrios. Oh wait… that's just me.

Then, when asked about the upcoming season, Chelsie Hightower let it slip that she, too, will not be dancing. These people clearly want to make Dancing with the Stars as uncomfortable as possible for me. Will Emily Maynard be the cherry on top of my misery sundae?

Meanwhile, dance troupe member Sharna Burgess tweeted that she has graduated to pro. Good for her, but she's no Chelsie.

Chelsie's awkward exchange went like this:

Photog: "You're sticking around, though.”
Chelsie: "I'm not on… I can't say."
Photog: "Wait, what? You left too?"
Chelsie: "No, no, no. Not my choice. Not my choice. Sometimes we take breaks."
Photog: "You're leaving for a year, and you're maybe coming back?"
Chelsie: "Yeah."
Photog: "You just told me something you probably shouldn't have told me."
Chelsie: "Yeah." (laughs)

Moving on to the cast rumors, TMZ has reportedly confirmed the Bachelor's Sean Lowe and American Idol's Kellie Pickler as competitors.

While Kellie is the first American Idol alum to compete, Sean follows in the footsteps of Trista Rehn, Jake Pavelka, and Melissa Rycroft. Kellie is going to be a lot of fun, I think, and Sean will, umm, I've got nothing look great when shirtless. Hey, at least Sean will stay engaged for as long as he dances, as he's not going to want to upset his fans.

Other rumors include country singer Wynonna Judd and Olympic gold-medal gymnast Aly Raisman.

As always, Dancing with the Stars reps refuse to comment on the cast prior to the network's official announcement, which takes place tomorrow morning on Good Morning America. Season 16 premieres March 18.
