Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen-X Episode 9 Preview: ‘Still Throwin’ Punches’

Well, it’s been over one week since the Election, and the world has yet to end (give it time). But tonight on Survivor, one of the remaining 12 contestants will see their torches snuffed, bringing their game and their dreams of winning one million dollars to an abrupt, shocking end.

Let’s get primed and ready for tonight’s new episode, as we continue barreling towards the end (of the season).

Tonight is the second post-merge episode, following the blindside of Michelle last week. She found herself in an unfortunate spot, as Adam and Jay were gunning for each other, and fearing that Jay might have or use an Idol, Adam and his Gen-X “voting bloc” decided instead to target Michelle. She was aligned with Jay and Taylor, even though she had apprehensions about voting out fellow Millennial Adam. A line has now been drawn in the sand, but judging on the episode of tonight’s new episode, this game is far from over.

Here is the official episode synopsis from CBS:

Episode 9 – “Still Throwin’ Punches”– Two castaways with secrets about each other use them as leverage in the game, while another refuses to “drop the ball” when individual immunity is on the line, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, Nov. 16(8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS.

It’s clear now that Jay, Taylor and Will are in the minority alliance, with Hannah and Adam most likely next in line.

The Gen-Xers on the other hand, are sitting pretty, as is Zeke, who probably has the most to lose moving forward. He’s square in the middle of several voting blocs and alliances, and therefore is seemingly in a great spot, but he will eventually have to make some decisions that might get people quite pissed at him. He’s banking right now on the fact that nobody else is talking to one another, which is a risky strategy, but when it works (Boston Rob), it usually is a winning recipe. But if the others begin chatting and comparing notes, or if Zeke pushes or overplays his cards, he might be in serious trouble. Luckily for Zeke fans, I don’t see that happening just yet.

Tonight all of the attention will be on Adam, who is firmly the target of Jay and Taylor, and it will be on the Gen-Xers to really decide who goes next…and Adam might be a target as well. Don’t forget that Adam, Jay, and Zeke all possess Idols at the moment, that Jessica has the “legacy advantage,” and that Adam also has the ability to steal someone’s reward, so I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: There is still a lot of game left to be played.

The Fans Have Spoken. The message boards were live last week, mainly discussing whether or not Adam was stupid for sharing the knowledge of his new “reward steal” power with Taylor. Most thought he was. It’s clear that Taylor is not exactly a fan-favorite, not on this site anyways. But Adam’s decision definitely looks like it will come back to bite him, judging by the preview video of tonight’s new episode, which you can watch below.
