Overnight it seems Kenya Moore and Marlo have become tighter than Marlo's wardrobe. Although I don't think anyone would describe them as friends – more like thick as thieves because they are up to some plotting!
Reeling in the aftermath of Kenya's charity event in which NeNe was honored but not honored (nor honorable) NeNe admits to Gregg (aka Tagalong) that she turned into NayNay, her super-ghetto alter-ego who likes to go all PLONK! and circumstance. As he listens to his wife's tale of woe, Gregg is sipping coffee from a toilet-shaped mug. I can't help but wonder… Is Gregg's toilet mug an indication of the status of his life? He's flushed his integrity and self-respect down the toilet for fame.
Former (or is it current?) entertainment lawyer Phaedra Parks appears on the March cover of Upscale Magazine alongside two other ladies of reality TV: Tameka Raymond (Atlanta Exes) and LaTavia Robertson (R&B Divas Atlanta).
In a quote about her experiences appearing on Real Housewives of Atlanta, Phaedra explains that though the show may have ahem… scripted moments, the stars certainly aren't treated like actors!
“We’re not members of SAG so it’s not like we’re getting benefits from replays," Phaedra says of one of the glaring pitfalls of being on reality TV. "We’re talents that aren’t being considered as actors, so they're getting talent for a nominal fee. They’ve found a way to make money and cut the cost on studios and productions so they’re making the largest profit with the least amount of residual.”
I bet Saving Our Daughters is sorry they ever allowed their charity to be the focus of a masquerade benefit held byKenya Moore on this season's Real Housewives of Atlanta. The aftermath of the charity event gets messier by the day. There seems to be no clear answer as to how much was donated and by whom. And the organization itself has come under scrutiny as it has been touting itself as a 501(c)3 charity when that exempt status was revoked by the IRS last year.
Saving Our Daughters released another statement yesterday to try to explain why they lost their tax exempt status and how they're working to rectify it. I'd like to note here that they removed their previous statement about the event from their website.
The chairman writes, "Saving Our Daughters’ has been a non-profit since 1997 and received its 501 C-3 in 1998. Many people are aware that in 2009 the founder of the organization, Curtis Benjamin, youngest daughter was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor that required immediate chemotherapy and radiation in Atlanta. During this time, all of Mr. Benjamin’s time and energy was solely dedicated to his daughter and family. After 2 1/2 years of battling this disease, Iliss Marie Benjamin died in 2011, one month before her 13th birthday."
With federal investigators reportedly still digging up dirt on Apollo Nida's accomplices, a judge has granted his request to delay his fraud trial. Lucky, ducky now he has more time to make club appearances before heading to the slammer!
In court documents filed on February 10th the Real Housewives of Atlanta star asked permission to delay his trial until March. Apollo was to begin his trial this month, but he is seeking more time to go over the prosecution's case against him and likely decide whether or not he wants to accept a plea deal. The Judge granted his request.
NeNe shared that she's heading to The View this Friday morning to spill the tea and clear up the rumors out there. Sherri Shepherd Tweeted, "NeNeLeakes comin by @theviewtv this Friday 2 clear up a few rumors & setting me straight on the drama #RHOA." NeNe then Tweeted, "Packing my bags headed 2 The View 2 chat it up wit the ladies & my girl @SherriEShepherd Tea Time Tune n Friday morning".
Another day, another twelve Real Housewives of Atlanta legal dramas! This afternoon it's none other thanPeter Thomas! Peter is being sued by his landlord at Bar One in Atlanta for $100,000 in unpaid rent!
Peter's landlord filed papers today claiming that Peter hasn't paid rent since March of 2013 on Bar One. They also filed a separate suit for $29,000 in rent owed on Cynthia Bailey's Bailey Agency property!
I can't promise this will be the last Real Housewives of Atlanta story for the day, but we're hoping it is! Barring any new developments, of course.
First up, NeNe Leakes was promoting yesterday that she'd be spilling tea on the Tom Joyner radio show this morning. That was before all hell broke loose yesterday afternoon, I guess, because Mrs. Leakes was a no show this morning! She did Tweet today, but not a word about why she decided not to do the interview and spill the tea she was promising.
On to other business. Kenya Moore took another opportunity to explain her side of what went down leading up to and the night of her charity event. She slams NeNe for her lies and her behavior, as expected.
