I’ve said it previously, and I’ll say it again – Lynne’s plastic surgeon deserves some sort of hall of fame award. That above is some good work.
Dr. Milind K. Ambe is the miracle worker plastic surgeon that performed Lynne’s “face lift” on July 11 in Newport Beach, Calif. “He moved my face up by lifting my forehead,” explains Lynne. “I also had a lift around my neck.”
“I’d always worked out a lot, but my head didn’t match my body,” Lynne tells Star. “I was so excited to get the work done.”
And how did Lynne afford her surgery considering her very recent and public eviction? She claims she paid for the procedure using sales from her Lynne Curtin Designs jewelry collection. “It looks like the clock has been turned back 12 years on my face,” she says.
Frank Curtin, Lynne’s husband, approves of his wife‘s new look. Lynne says, “He sends me texts all day saying I’m hot!”
Jo appeared on the 1st and 2nd seasons of the show as the fiance of Slade Smiley. In this new interview, Jo talks about her feelings towards Slade and Gretchen’s new dating relationship (Gretchen was friends with both Jo and Slade), the new man in her life (pictured above) and why she chose not to return to the show this season.
Excerpts from Jo’s interview below -
Q. Reality Wanted: Will you make an appearance in Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Orange County?
A. Jo: It is one of those things where, I left the show back in Season 2, and my life is so different now, who I am now compared to who I was 4 years ago. I live in LA now. There were talks of me coming on the show to confront Gretchen and Slade, but I need to be selfless at this point. Regardless of how I feel about them being together, this is Gretchen and Slade’s time in the spotlight and I just want to move forward with my music. It would have put me back out there in the public eye, but for all the wrong reasons. I will forever be thankful for The Real Housewives of Orange County, because that is how I got my start, but I have my own story that I have to tell through my music, and for me to go back to confront the past just doesn’t make sense.
Q. Reality Wanted: How long did you & Slade date? Even on Date My Ex, he was always with you…
A. Jo: We were together for five years. Here is the funny thing, some insider information: even though I was on the show; I was still in love with Slade. I was still trying to work things out. It was never really over for Slade and I. Even after Date My Ex, Slade and I were still trying to work it out and then….came Gretchen.
Q. Reality Wanted: On the show, Gretchen said that she called you to let you know about her and Slade, even though he had said not to. Is this accurate?
A. Jo: She called me because I found out from her ex-boyfriend Jay that Slade and Gretchen were hooking up. So the whole reason she called me was because it was already out. She actually called me when Slade was in jail and she was asking for help. (Smiley was arrested in February 2009 for unpaid child support, purportedly at Rossi’s Costa Mesa home.) I was just like, “How can you call me and ask me for help when I just found out that you are sleeping with Slade?” The truth of the matter is that it is what it is, and Gretchen, to me, is…it’s just dumb. We were ALL friends, you know, no matter how close we were, I just wish they would have come to me first, without me having to find out the way that I did. Even being able to talk to Slade on it, one on one, but they didn’t even give me that. I just have to move forward, and not have a confrontation on camera. He was the love of my life, and she knew that. I was with him for 5 years, we were engaged, I acted as the mother of his children, and I was building a life with this man, and she was the girl that I knew, and you know what it is, at the end of the day, I just hate the way it all came down and came to an end. Slade and I are no longer even friends, and I haven’t even been able to talk to him face to face about it, and I know that is because of her (Gretchen).
My favorite franchise would have to be the Real Housewives of New York City. No, it does not have any table flipping, wig yanking drama, but it does have a cast filled with interesting characters. Where else can you find the crazy eyes of Ramona, Bethenny’s great one liners, the Countess’s delusion of grandeur, Kelly’s air headness, mixed with the desperate social climbing ambition of Alex and Simon.
The NYC franchise comprises of what the Housewives series was originally about — focusing on great characters rather than grande drama. I actually find myself looking forward to February, when the 3rd season will be back on the air.
TELL US – SO THE QUESTION OF THE DAY IS, WHICH HOUSEWIVES SERIES IS YOUR FAVORITE? AND WHY?
Slade Smiley took some time out of his very busy schedule to share with us his thoughts on the Real Housewives of Orange County. The blog, which has now been removed from Bravo’s website, was a no holds barrel in regards to Slade’s opinion on some of the OC ladies.
Slade, first appeared on Season One as the fiancé of original cast member Jo De La Rosa, he then briefly dated Lauri Waring, and is now dating Gretchen Rossi.
Some of the highlights from Slade’s rather long blog is below -
His Thoughts onVicki Gunvalson – “For some reason, Gretchen seems to have a soft spot for Vicki [Gunvalson], which I do not share… But that’s what makes Gretchen such an amazing person. Vicki will probably continue to be the same rude, self-absorbed work-a-holic she has always been. It’s her superiority complex that gets the best of her. Vicki has some real balls to say I am whoring Gretchen out. No one has felt the need to talk about all her secret little hotel rendezvous, I suggest you keep your comments to yourself.”
His Thoughts on Tamra Barney - “This girl cannot mind her own business. Do you think Tamra ever once called to check in on G when Jeff was sick? Of course not! Does she care about all the BS being written because of her unwarranted comments? Nope. She knows exactly why it happened and she is actually involved with the tool bag who is behind it. What’s funny is she thinks none of us know what her and Simon are up to. News flash Tamra, we all know and it’s not going to be pretty for you when it all comes out. The world is on to your game honey and Karma is a b***h.”

In a new interview with Intouch magazine, Gretchen Rossi opens up about her battle with an eating disorder. Gretchen reveals she has suffered from bulimia since high school. TheReal Housewife of Orange Countystar has since recovered through therapy and self acceptance.
“I got healthy,” Gretchen reveals. “I was a lot heavier back in high school and in college. I wasn’t even fat, I was only 130 pounds. But compared to what I look like now at 115 pounds, I thought I looked fat.”
Gretchen, who made the headlines when some explicit photos of her were released online this summer, reveals that suffering from an eating disorder was tough. “My best friend busted me in the bathroom, and then my parents found out,” Gretchen says. “That’s when I decided to seek therapy.”
She adds: “I decided that I was going to make a difference, and I went and got my personal training license and nutritional license. Then I worked as a personal trainer, nutritionist and aerobics instructor.”
Even though Gretchen has a body most women will die for, she still hates her thighs. “I don’t like my legs at all. I hate my legs. I have just always wanted skinnier thighs. My thighs kill me,” says Gretchen. As for her favorite body part, Gretchen says, “My boyfriend , Slade, gives me the compliment that my butt is my best feature, so I try and make sure by butt looks cute in whatever I have on.”
Gretchen is also proud of the fact that she is plastic surgery free. “I have not had any plastic surgery whatsoever,” she says. “This is the best weight I’ve ever been at, and this is the best I feel like I’ve ever looked. I feel toned and healthy and good. And it took a little bit to get to that place, but I’m grateful I’m finally at that place.”
As for her advice to other women going through the same thing, she advises, “Get right with yourself and with God, because if you have that in your life, everything else will fall into place.” You can read more of Gretchen’s story in the new issue of InTouch.
The Real Housewives of Orange County attended TV GUIDE Magazine’s Hot List Party at SLS Hotel on November 10, 2009 in Beverly Hills, California. Jeana Keough, who will be leaving the show after 2 more episodes, was not in attendance. Neither was Alexis Bellino, the newest housewife.
Also in attendance wasSlade Smiley, honorable 6th housewife boyfriend of Gretchen Rossi. You can see more photos of the ladies below. Yikes at Tamra‘s hair, and Lynne‘s plastic surgeon should have his scalpel donated to some sort of plastic surgery hall of fame.
In other news, Vicki Gunvalson will be appearing on the Dr. Phil show on November 12th. No word yet on the reason for her appearance.
In a new interview with TVGuide, Gretchen opens up about the new season and tells us why she is no longer “taking any more punches.” The punches she’s referring to are those of her fellow castmates, Tamra and Vicki Gunvalson.
Gretchen reveals why the first ladies of Orange County will always hold their own among the many new faces of the Housewives franchise. “We are the original housewives, and ultimately people’s hearts are within the story lines of the people they’ve seen forever,” Gretchen says. “Each of us women on the show has a little bit more sophistication and class than maybe some of the other [cities] project.”
Interesting to hear Gretchen talking about class, considering all the explicit photos of her that leaked out this year. Regarding her ongoing tension with castmate Tamra, Gretchen says, “There might be some resolution but ultimately, I just say what needs to be said and I finally stand up for what’s right.” She continues, “I’m back and better this season and I’m not taking any more punches.”
And when asked about her new beau Slade Smiley, “Slade is a part of my life right now and I’m so grateful to have him in my life,” Gretchen says. “I truly feel like Jeff sent me Slade.”
Thoughts on the new season – It came off a bit boring to me, as well as fake and a tad bit sad. The ‘long awaited’ argument between Tamra and Gretchen didn’t redeem the episode for me. Watching the women go through their financial struggles was a bit sad to watch, and somewhat of a downer. Gretchen and Slade’s convenient new relationship? Not buying it, considering there were rumors she was suppose to appear on season 4 as Slade’s “girlfriend.” Arranging for all these ladies who hate each other to come together for dinner? Fake.
Perhaps it’s because I’m coming off the drama packed season of the Atlanta housewives, but this new season of the OC just lacked something. Maybe it’s because most of these ladies are not friends and don’t have the years of history the Altanta ladies have with one another. It’s going to become a tough task for Bravo to continue topping each shocking season of their Housewives’ franchise. It was however nice to see that some things, or people rather remain the same. How classy was it of Vicki to mention the fact that Jeana needed to borrow money from her, and her answer was a big NO! From watching the first episode, it’s easy to understand why Jeana is ready to move on. Quite frankly, I might be too.
TELL US – WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE NEW SEASON OF THE OC HOUSEWIVES?
They’re back! The original housewives of bravo are returning for their 5th season tonight.
The Real Housewives of Orange County have pretty much been in the headlines for the past few months. Whether it be Gretchen Rossi’s leaked photos, Lynne Curtin’seviction saga, or Vicki Gunvalson’strashy bar behavior, It’s safe to say these six women will be keeping us entertained for weeks to come.
The DailyBeast caught up with the OC Housewives to discuss their new season, and changes in their lives. Vicki claims the show has negatively affected her insurance business, leading her to almost not return for the 5th season. “I almost lost a very large client of mine—a $2 million client—because he Googled me and said he didn’t like what he was seeing on the TV show,” Gunvalson, 47, told The Daily Beast.
Bravo promises the upcoming season will address the financial woes of some of the ladies, including that of Jeana Keough, who’s divorce and a down real-estate market prompted her to quit the show to focus on work full-time. She will be leaving the show after 3 episodes. Jeana however reveals other reasons for leaving the show, “I just didn’t feel appreciated by the girls or the network,” she said.
Tamra Barney, 42, will be one of the housewives dealing with financial woes. Her home is currently listed as a short sale, and she has had to let both a nanny and a maid go to save cash. This season will also deal with Tamra doing a lot of arguing with her husband Simon Barney. “He did not want to come back this season, and I did,” she said. “He’s very private and conservative. We’re having a lot of financial problems, and he just didn’t want to expose that.”
Tonight’s episode will show Gretchen reflecting on the death of her deceased fiance, and confronting Tamra about the things Tamra said about her last season. It will also feature Vicki skydiving, and Lynn contemplating having a facelift.
