Who knew? It seems that Tamra Barney may have had her best year yet! The Real Housewives of Orange County star managed to come out of this season looking not too shabby compared to past seasons. Even as her normal two-faced mean girl self, Tamra seemed to be…dare I say it?…genuine and slightly relatable.
She got married to Eddie Judge (and a coveted spin-off!) and opened a business. Tamra managed to mature a little bit and rekindle some old frienemieships while being somewhat nice to those to whom she'd once (or thrice) treated brutally. Awww, our girl is all grown up, isn't she?
Princess Heather Dubrow, most esteemed actress of all times (back off Meryl Streep) took a break from Academy Award winning sitcom guesties to blog about that other thing she does in her spare time outside of winning like all the Tonys in all the world: Real Housewives of Orange County.
On the heels of the final installment of the reunion, in which Vicki Gunvalson got the frizz put back in her professionally straightened hair as she was forced to confront all the lameness that is Brooks Ayers, Heather gives her comments on the emotional season and what she hopes is to come.
"I felt differently this year at the reunion. No longer the 'new girl' I have now formed real relationships with these women and am invested in them," Heatherbegins. And with real friendships comes real ammunition!
Real Housewives of Miami held steady at 1.3 million. Meanwhile, Bravo's surprise (to me) hit Below Deck attracted its largest audience yet, with 1.75 million viewers. That's up 200,000 from last week's 1.55 million.
Finally, 1.810 million viewers checked out the series premiere of Teen Mom 3, but only 1.554 million stuck around for the second episode. I'm not surprised roughly 250,000 viewers checked out. Two hours of any new series is overkill.
Poor Lydia McLaughlin was emotionally exhausted after taping her first Real Housewives of Orange County reunion. The new (and hopefully returning!) cast member took to her blog this week to express her frustration over the way things went down on last night's third and final installment.
Lydia starts off sharing that she was disappointed in the way Briana Culberson handled the topic of Ryan'streatment of her mom, Judy Stirling. As we all saw, Briana suddenly didn't want to discuss altercation (hello! that is what a reunion episode is!) and tried to shut down any talk of it because Ryan wasn't there. She feebly attempted to excuse his behavior and Lydia is aggravated, to say the least. "What happened between my mother and Ryan was unfortunate. However, I feel Vicki, Ryan, and Briana are trying to steer away from the facts. Ryan shouldn't have yelled at my mother. End of story. He should apologize for his actions. She wasn't drinking red wine, but if she had been, don't you think he would have mentioned that while he was verbally assaulting her!?"
It's always odd to refer to reality TV as too much reality but last night's episode of Real Housewives of Orange County was like watching a high-gloss, ultraglam version of Intervention.
Vicki Gunvalson needs a serious wake-up call and unfortunately being called out on national television by her daughter and close friends wasn't enough to do it.
Here let me try to help: Vicki – BROOKS AYERS is a loser. He's using you. He's gross. No one likes him for a reason. Please dump him, get a restraining order, and then get thoroughly STD tested. Hey that's just my advice, but I think you should take it! I'm starting to think Brooks has some serious mega dirt on Vicki – is this a case of blackmail gone Stockholm Syndrome?
