Aside from actually living in the city from the show’s title, Monique is one of the few cast members who is in a happy relationship and isn’t lying about her finances- so of course, that didn’t sit well with some people.
Throughout the whole second season of Real Housewives of Potomac, it really seemed like Ashley Darby was projecting a lot of her marriage problems on the rest of the cast. Still, it was pretty shocking when she announced that she and Michael Darby have been living separately for the past three months- especially since he was sitting there behind her at the reunion taping in relatively good spirits.
Sure, the marriage didn’t seem to be the most solid throughout the season, but announcing it in the middle of the reunion definitely caught people off guard- or at least it caught me off guard. Then again, saving the relationship is a pretty solid story line for Season 3, so I’m not that surprised and neither was Ashley’s RHOPcostar Monique Samuels
Sure, the gossiping didn’t help, but there’s no way that three outsiders were actually responsible for the demise of Ashley and Michael’s relationship. So of course Gizelle is standing up for herself and throwing some serious shade- as per usual.
With part two of the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion, we are finally drawing to a close on the season. A messy, messy season. Case in point, we left last week’s reunion with Robyn Dixon trash talking cast mate Ashley Darby for all of her pot stirring and not minding her own business when it comes to Robyn’s marriage/not marriage. We rejoin part two in the exact same spot, with the ladies checking their phones, being touched up by makeup, and Robyn telling Charrisse Jackson-Jordan that she would beat Ashley’s ass if it wasn’t for the cameras.
This doesn’t seem like a great place to pick up and thankfully, it’s not, so instead, the husbands (Big Drawers and the BBG), ex-husbands (Juan), and soon to be ex-husbands (Michael) join the stage. Andy is not about to waste any precious time and goes right in on Juan, asking why he was so reluctant to join them. Clearly, someone from Bravo had to get on the phone and beg.
According to Bravo, “The two-part reunion concludes with a mixture of insults and apologies when the husbands join the ladies on stage. Juan finally tells his side of the story and expresses his feelings about his relationship with Robyn. Monique attempts to put Gizelle in her place once and for all, and she also drops a sassy freestyle rap that ruffles everyone’s feathers. Charrisse drops the ultimate “tea” about Karen, while Ashley reveals an explosive secret about her and Michael that drops jaws.”
Even though Robyn Dixon was relatively cool with the rest of the ladies on Real Housewives of Potomac this season, the first part of the reunion ended up being all about her. Of course they also “addressed” Karen Huger‘s shady move and got no plausible explanation for it.
Gizelle responds to Karen’s claims that she moved to be closer to her parents, even hoping that her parents might come live with her one day. “I DO NOT understand Karen’s house moving explanation at all what-so-EVER! It was very confusing. Are her parents packing their bags and getting ready to move into this Great Falls house? Aren’t her parents very old and need to be cared for? Would they even care where they live? Again, CONFUSING!”
As far as reunions go, The Real Housewives of Potomac are starting off slow. Sure, there was plenty of arguing and we even had a few false accusations and one reference to someone getting their ass beat. But for the most part, the ladies decided to use part one of the reunion as a warm up.
Before we go any further, let’s get to what really matters: rating their outfits from best to worst. I know y’all think I’m too hard on Miss Monique FIVE HOUSES Samuels and tonight will be no exception, but I have to give it to her as the best dressed of the night. Sure, the skirt of her ice skater dress was a tad extra, but the color was beautiful on her and her hair and makeup were flawless. I’m going to give Ashley Darby a close second for beautiful hair and makeup but had to deduct points for that dress that was one structured chest strap short of being found in the Star Trek costume closet.
