Since the announcement of Jon and Kate Gosselin’s divorce proceedings on their reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, a lot has happened. Besides being on the cover of every tabloid magazine, the couple has moved in opposite directions. Their show, which was placed on hiatus, is set to return on Aug 3rd.
With the return of the show, viewers can expect to see Jon & Kate taking on new responsibilities.
“You’ll see Jon struggle in the kitchen trying to make pizza for his kids,” TLC General Manager and President Eileen O’Neill said at the Television Critics the panel in Pasadena, Calif., on Thursday. “You’ll see what it’s like when Kate has to put a tent up for the first time for her kids, who love to camp in their backyard. And she gets a little advice from her daughter who doesn’t think she does it quite as well as dad.”
Viewers will see Jon and Kate date, O’Neill said.
“The show comes back on Monday and most new episodes remain a work in progress,” she went on. “But I will tell you: the iconic couch is gone. Jon and Kate will now have separate chairs for their interview.
It is not clear if the “new women” in Jon’s life – gossip reporter Kate Major and Hailey Glassman will be featured on the show. According to a recent interview with PEOPLE, Jon disclosed that he is single and doesn’t plan to introduce anyone he’s dating to his kids.
According to the producers, viewers will continue to see two parents that love their kids even though they will be parenting separately.
