Tonight marks the 4th season premiere of Bravo’s hit show – The Millionaire Matchmaker!
So what can we expect tonight? Well, we will get to see the matchmaker herself, Patti Stanger, as she sets up her office in New York City, following her move from Los Angeles. Also on the season opener, Patti will attempt to find perfect matches for Derek, 40, a proud “butt man,” and Bryce, 26, an uptight heiress who demands a Jewish version of George Clooney. In usual Patti fashion, she will have some harsh words for both bachelor(ettes).
When asked about the biggest difference between her LA and NYC clients, Patti states “L.A. millionaires are snotty on the looks, and New York millionaires are snotty on the intelligence.” As for her widely reported break-up with fiance Andy Friedman, it will not be featured on the show this season as taping had already ended before it happened. Excerpts from Patti’s interview with TV Squad below –
Chris Manzo, the son of Caroline Manzo from ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey,’ is going to be on the second episode of this season. Is he actually a millionaire?
He is called the “M.I.T. Millionaire in training.”
That’s great. Is his brother Albie on the show, too?
They’re both on. They’re different in that Chris is a workaholic who has one day a week to date, and Albie only attracts the fame whores.
How about Danielle Staub from ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey?’ Would you set her up?
She’s already asked me.
Would you do it?
Well, you know, Caroline would probably have a hit out on me. I can’t go against Caroline. I’m in the Manzo family now. I’m a meek little Jew. I don’t hurt anyone. I said to Danielle, “I’m really sorry, but I’m friends with Caroline, so I can’t.” Caroline would be really mad at me.
Are Bill Brandes & Heidi Cornell, the two millionaires, still together?
They had a torrid two-year affair. They broke my club rules on the first date when they slept together.
Why isn’t Chelsea, the VP of matchmaking, on the show this season?
We no longer have her in the company. I can’t discuss it under advice from my lawyer.
And when it comes to her low success rate on the Bravo show, Patti claims her success rate in real life is 99% and that it’s lower on the show because Bravo controls the casting and not her. “My real members [Stanger runs a dating service called Millionaire’s Club] are on the Forbes List, and they would never go on camera,” adds Patti. Riight.
In other news, when the show premieres tonight, one person who will be missing is Chelsea Autumn, who had appeared on the previous 3 seasons of the show as Patti’s VP of Matchmaking.
While Patti declined to comment on Chelsea’s departure in the above interview, Chelsea’s rep confirms to the TooFab website that she left the show following 8 years of “constant abuse, hard work with little credit and enough crazy crazy Stanger stories to fill a phone book,” adding that she was was ready to leave the “claws of Stanger.”
Chelsea’s story is believable as a leaked conversation of a raving Patti was leaked by TMZ months ago during which Patti could be heard going completely ballistic on a stylist. In reply to the leaked audio of Patti, Chelsea posted the following on her facebook – “Now everyone can see why I quit..lol”
Chelsea has now launched her own competing matchmaking company called Queen of Hearts.
