Is Simon Cowell Giving Britney Spears The Boot On X Factor For Being “Too Boring”?

Bye, bye, bye…BYE-BYE!  Oh, wait.  That's not a Britney Spears' hit, that's a song made famous by her teenage love Justin Timberlake and his former boy band 'N SYNC.  Regardless of who sang the song, it seems fitting as rumors are flying about Brit-Brit's comeback ending before it's time.  Sigh.

After multiple weddings, head shaving, umbrella attacks, and conservatorships, an iconic Britney seemed to (sadly) crumble under incredible personal and professional pressures right before our very eyes, only to be revived by Simon Cowell as a judge on The X Factor.  While she still seemed extremely fragile, I think everyone was rooting for her.  Sadly, it seems that Britney didn't rise to her new calling.  Sources are now saying that the former international pop star is on the chopping block.  You know what?  Maybe that's a good thing.  She's talented, she's got precious children, and she's richer than all of us put together…perhaps she needs to take some time for herself to decompress and while getting away from the public eye.  There is no shame in that, Britney!

According to Us Weekly, Britney won't be returning for the next season.  An insider says, "Britney will get the bootProducers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn't working."

Unfortunately for Britney, she wasn't quite ready to be cast back into the spotlight after all of her hardships.  A source close to the show cites that her $15 million paycheck didn't quite garner what producers expected, revealing, "They paid all that for her to say 'amazing' and offer half-claps."

Yet another X Factor insider shares, "[Simon] wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney."  Hey, Simon!  Boring Britney is a hopefully healthy Britney, and I'd watch her any day over the girl who was so ridiculously and sadly out of control just a few years ago.  I sincerely hope you weren't trying to capitalize on her illness.  I'll give you the benefit of the doubt…for now.

In the past, it's been a revolving door for X Factor judges, although I think that fact speaks more to the show than to it's panel.  Besides discovering One Direction, the talent competition hasn't been garnering the viewers.  I hope that if the show continues, Britney will be sitting among the judges, if for no other reason than to take her mind off her relationship woes.  Many speculate that her engagement to manager Jason Trawick is on the rocks, with a friend close to the superstar lamenting, "They are pulling away from each other. Unless things change, they will split for good."

I hate to hear that.  I'm rooting for my python wearing, sweaty dancer writhing, video vixen.  She's truly a victim of her circumstances, and I, for one, don't want a front row seat for her downfall.
