Kanye West Says He Won’t “Overshare” Like Will And Jada Pinkett Smith Following Split From Kim Kardashian

It’s not every day that Kanye West says something coherent and agreeable, so this is genuinely a noteworthy occasion. Ye sat down with Hollywood Unlocked for a lengthy, 45-minute interview where he talked about everything under the sun, and of course, Kim Kardashian came up. Although we’ve heard dozens of stories about their split, and we’ve seen his public displays of affection trying to win her back, he says that his days of oversharing about their relationship are coming to a close.

As Page Six reported, Kanye is singing a different tune for sharing his personal life with the media because he doesn’t want to be like Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. He said during the interview, “We’re not going for a ‘Will and Jada’ because everybody got problems on both sides.”

Now, that is definitely some light shade at Will and Jada, but the best kind of shade always has a little bit of truth to it. Over the last couple of years, they have made it a monthly habit of sharing headline-making details about their marriage. From the “entanglements” to the stories about their wild sex life in the 90s, as a society, we’ve unintentionally learned an exhausting amount of information about Will and Jada. The endless onslaught of stories reached a point that someone made a Change.org petition begging the media to stop interviewing the two.

Despite not wanting to divulge private details about his family, in the interview, Kanye proceeded to accuse the Kardashians of playing games with him amid the divorce. For example, he was blindsided after helping Kim prepare for her Saturday Night Live hosting gig, only for her to end up sharing an on-screen kiss with her future boyfriend, Pete Davidson.

“How are you going to bring me to SNL, and then kiss the dude you’re dating right in front of me, and everybody’s like, ‘Oh, that’s cool,'” Ye said. “They can go on SNL and make jokes, make jokes in the media. They can plant stories about whoever I’m dating. They can block deals… but I’m [going to] tell you straight up, don’t play with my kids,” he continued.

So, in true Kanye fashion, the interview descended into something that no longer makes complete sense, but that doesn’t change the accuracy of the Will and Jada shade. He continued ranting, saying, “Whoever y’all work for — whoever y’all think the family is working for — I’m telling you right now, don’t play with my children… It’s going to be all legal baby.”
