Married At First Sight Recap: – It’s Just A Blip

Married At First Sight knew what they were doing when they put these people with all of these problems in a house for a weekend. This episode definitely didn’t disappoint. It was only a matter of time before there were arguments and lots of shade. We are almost done with the season and I still don’t feel like I know who will choose to stay married. Let’s face it every couple has some serious issues whether they want to admit it or not. Even the couples that I think could stand a chance could still go a different way. Buckle up for a wild finale everyone.

With just two weeks left until Decision Day, the couples head to Vermont for a last romantic getaway. Despite sound baths, adventure parks, and fun with alpacas, not everything is fun and games.  One person ends up in urgent care. Let’s get straight to the recap!

Katina and Olajuwon

Katina and Olajuwon have a date with some alpacas during the couples retreat. This was actually extremely funny because it just was so weird. As long as they had a good time, that is all that matters.  But things take a dramatic turn when he once again begins to belittle his wife during lunch. First, he belittles her life choice of going to school later in life. Then tells her it’s unrealistic for her to start a new career and want a baby during the same timeframe. He adds he doesn’t intend to take care of another person when his life is already set. Omg… I can’t wait until the montage of all of the terrible things this man has said to put down Katina airs on the reunion. He is totally oblivious to how he talks to people. Katina doesn’t make it any better because she allows it.

Lindsey and Mark

Things were going well between Lindsey and Mark until they get into yet another petty fight. Sigh! It all started when she was desperate to wake him up. When he finally gets up, he makes a joke about her being hyper. Boy was that the wrong move. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal, but apparently it triggered her. According to her, he constantly makes rude comments to her. Insert eye roll emoji. Lindsey, unlike most people, I actually don’t mind you and even think I understand you to a degree. But you have to stop being so sensitive and accept that Mark is a completely different person than you. You guys are on vacation, if he wants to sleep in for a little while, let him.

After a tumultuous morning, Lindsey and Mark relax during a sound bath. It looked so relaxing; I almost laid on my own couch and went to sleep. That peace doesn’t last long when she feels slighted during the couple’s game. Not only did she tell her husband that she lied about his performance in bed, she told everyone she doesn’t give a damn what they think. Lindsey should never drink during group activities where there can be conflict. The sauce seems to propel her down a dark road even faster. The next morning, she has to be raced to urgent care after feeling ill. At least she has the good sense to apologize to Mark for her behavior.

Noi and Steve

Is it just me or is Noi starting to come off as a brat. I understand that she wants Steve to make her feel financially secure, but her attitude is horrible. While on the drive down to the couples retreat they begin talking about her posting their problems on social media. Once again, she takes the stance that she is going to y do whatever she wants to do on her page. I don’t think it is unreasonable for him to request her to not to talk about their problems on a public platform. I don’t know if Noi is ready for marriage. It seems like closer they get to decision day, the more noncommittal she becomes. First, she said she wasn’t sure she wanted to live together after the show. Now, she doesn’t care that her actions are hurting someone she claims to love. Honestly, I wouldn’t blame Steve if he decides to move on. He at least seems open to things that she wants from him, but she isn’t returning the favor.

Steve shares his dilemma with Noi posting about their relationship on social media with the guys. Olajuwon believes that if it is something that truly hurts him, then that should be enough to make Noi stop. I have to agree. Her approach is very immature, in my eyes. When you are married you have to change your mindset from a single one. Her actions no longer just affect her.  During dinner, Steve attempts to bring up the issue. Noi cuts him off quickly letting him know she doesn’t care to discuss it. Before ending the discussion, he says it’s weird she feels comfortable telling everything to the world, but not to a small group. Whew, the shade. Nonetheless, I think they have a lot more to talk about before they can come to an agreement. Hopefully they don’t continue to keep pushing this under the wrong.

Jasmina and Michael

Michael takes advantage of the car ride with Jasmina to get her thoughts on their marriage, thus far. He wants to know what it would take for her to want to stay married. At this point, she feels they are only 5 out of 10.  So things could go either way. Later, in the pool with the ladies, Jasmina shares that she is nervous that she won’t grow attracted to her husband. But she is still hopeful now that she and Michael are both putting in the work.

Jasmina and Michael meet with a medium that has a lot of to share with him about his deceased family. I feel so bad for him. I hope he doesn’t feel forced to constantly relive his darkest moments on national television. Although he is taken it well, I hope he is okay after these scenes.  This particular experience seems to have brought them even closer. I even saw them holding hands in front of the other couples. That is definitely progress. There just may be hope for them yet.
