The Bachelorette Alum Michelle Young Explains Why She Was Photographed Without Her Engagement Ring

Is another Bachelorette engagement soon to be broken off? Well… not so fast! Over the weekend Bachelorette Michelle Young was spotted without her engagement ring, but she has been quick to clap back and defend her engagement to Nayte Olukoya.

In a series of Instagram stories posted on Monday, Michelle decided to address the rumors. She said, “There is a video circulating of me on a rooftop this weekend and I’m not wearing my engagement ring, and what I have to say is to the person who is paying close enough attention to catch that moment, you also had to be paying close enough attention to see one of my friends briefly remove my engagement ring to try it on and then place it back on my finger.”

At the beginning of the video, she talks about how rarely she responds to these types of rumors, but apparently, she has been receiving an overflow of messages from concerned fans. She continued, “Just a friendly reminder that =Nayte and I, we are human beings, not a zoo exhibit.”

She added, “Not to mention videoing someone without them knowing is creepy. It’s not cool.” Which, I have to agree with her! This person was watching her for long enough to notice that moment, film it, then post it knowing it might cause a stir. If I were Michelle, I’d be a little bit creeped out too!

Nayte took to TikTok to joke about the whole situation. In the clip, he is repeatedly asking where Michelle is and captioned it “90% of my DMs”.

Despite the rumors, the relationship has been going very well so far. The two got engaged during the finale of the most recent season of The Bachelorette, and have instantly become fan favorites. Michelle told People last December, “I fall more in love every day. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a family with a healthy marriage and I thought, I’m not going to give up until I have that. He’s my person. And I didn’t know I could love at this level.”
