Barry Williams Responds to Dancing with the Stars Elimination

Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars has been quite the spectacle. Where else can you see Greg Brady have a dance-off against Jason Mraz? Unfortunately, this week we had to say goodbye to Greg, whose real name is of course Barry Williams, after he failed to captivate the judges with his moves.

Although Barry didn’t snatch the Mirrorball Trophy, he’s at least being a good sport about it. In an exit interview with Page Six, he had nothing but good things to say about his time on the show.

A Very Brady Elimination

Barry has been dancing with Peta Murgatroyd. The judges sent them packing this week, despite Barry ripping off his shirt and showing some skin during his final dance against Jason. He was hopeful that he’d get some bonus points for the sex appeal. Barry’s still got it, but the move wasn’t enough to keep him and his partner in the game. However, the 69-year-old actor said he still felt like a winner.

“I felt like, after the second show, I had already won! This has been such a tremendous experience, such an uncomfortable growing experience,” Barry told the outlet before gushing over Peta.

“Peta has been the best partner I could have hoped for [and] I’ll have skills I’ll take with me for life,” Barry quipped. “And I went out with a bang!”

Of course, the bang he was referring to was the spicy moment when he ripped open his shirt, showing off that hunky physique. Barry said his strategy behind that move was to pull attention away from Jason. Obviously, that strategy worked. The crowd went wild and Barry bested Jason in the dance-off. However, once all of the scores from the night were added together, Barry and Peta still got the boot.

Now that Barry’s Dancing with the Stars days are over, he said that he’s most looking forward to getting some much-needed rest. But overall, it sounds like he was just thankful for the opportunity to compete.

“The biggest thing that I’ve learned [from doing DWTS] is how to not be too self-critical,” Barry shared. “I have learned to keep a positive attitude and to keep moving forward.”

Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars continues on ABC and Disney+, Wednesday nights at 8/7c.
