Family Karma’s Monica Vaswani and Rish Karam Engaged

Family Karma stars Monica Vaswani and Rish Karam finally put a ring on it. After dancing around the subject for the entirety of Season 3, Rish apparently worked up the courage to pop the question.

Announcing their happy news on Instagram over the weekend, Monica shared that Rish proposed on November 11. “We found our way,” she captioned the carousel of photos. “True love is learning, growing and never giving up. We were blessed to be surrounded by incredible friends & family who supported us each step of the way. Our hearts are so full and I’m over the moon to share our engagement with you.”

Rish also posted photos of the engagement, along with a sweet caption. “I’m beyond blessed & grateful to call you my best friend, soulmate, & now MY FIANCÉ!” he gushed. “Your zest for life, beautiful smile, & pure heart are a few of the many reminders of why I’m so lucky to be doing life with you. I’m so excited for this next chapter of our lives! Cheers to all of the adventures life has planned for us, love you baby girl!”

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Congratulatory messages were forthcoming in the comments from many of their friends and co-stars. Amrit Kapai wrote, “Yessss!!!! So happy for you two! Congrats,” adding the clinking champagne glasses emoji.

Referring to the Bollywood-style dances traditionally performed at an Indian wedding, Bali Chainani commented, “I’m choreographing the dances!!!”

Season 3 Winter House star Brian Benni, who previously dated Monica and is still a close friend, added, “Congratulations love y’all!!

Monica’s dad Raj Vaswani also shared his joy. “I am so happy for the both of you!” he wrote. “My baby is engaged and I’m getting a son! May God shower you both with endless love and happiness!”

During Season 3, viewers saw Monica struggle with her hope that Rish would propose by her 30th birthday. He missed the deadline, and she admitted, “It just got pushed to 31.”

“To be honest, by 30 I thought that I would be starting this next chapter, be married, have children,” Monica sighed. “This is the first time in my life where I feel like I don’t know where my life is potentially headed.”

While all three seasons of Family Karma are available on Peacock, no word has been released on Season 4. Earlier this month, NBCUniversal Entertainment Chairman Frances Berwick admitted that the series was currently “on pause [but] in my heart of hearts, I believe we will bring it back at some point.”

Please, God, from Berwick’s mouth to your ears. It would be criminal not to renew this beloved, heartfelt show. Especially when there’s another Indian wedding on the horizon!
