Kody Brown has no intentions of reconciling with or even talking to his second wife, Janelle Brown.
In a quick teaser for next week’s Sister Wives: One on One Special, the Brown patriarch, 54, admitted that he doesn’t want to reconnect with his estranged wife Janelle after their separation last year.
Past the point of no return
Kody told moderator Sukanya Krishnan, “I was thinking to myself, I don’t ever want to talk to Janelle again.” In a separate clip, Robyn Brown, who has been trying to get the family “back together,” was seen pleading with him, “You have six kids; that’s worth fighting for.”
But Kody seems resolute. It may be his way of dealing with the fallout of his marriages.
As for his first wife, Meri Brown, Kody said that he “told her I loved her and chose to love her” before their relationship eventually failed.
The same is likely true for Christine Brown, whom Kody previously admitted to not wanting to talk to or see again as well. Christine and Janelle later shared that Kody can answer for his part in their failed relationships like a “grown man,” although they probably shouldn’t hold their breath as he thinks they’re just bitter he didn’t love them.
“They are trash-talking me because I’m guilty of not loving them,” Kody said. Uh, yeah, that’s not it.
Hoping for reconciliation
Although Kody makes it clear that his relationships with Janelle, Meri, and Christine are over, Robyn previously told PEOPLE that she still hopes to reconcile with her former sister wives.
She still believes everyone can remain a family. Sounds a bit out of reach at this point, but you can’t blame a girl for trying.
“It looks a little different,” she said of the family’s current dynamics, “but I sure hope it’s possible. I can’t have expectations. So I hope and pray that it’s possible. But that will be a situation where everybody has to choose that, so I don’t know.”
Considering that three of Kody’s marriages imploded in the short span of 14 months, a big family reunion seems unlikely any time soon. But we’ll see because if it doesn’t, will the show still have anything to air?
