Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 14 is thankful for many things this holiday season, and rightfully so! The former contestant marks two major milestones — one year of being cancer-free and shedding 150 pounds! Two things that she should absolutely be celebrating.
Reasons to be proud and happy
“It feels so great being able to be here one year later, and I have so much to be thankful for,” Kornbread explained in her post, along with before-and-after photos. “This past year has been INSANE, but I am happy to have made it out.”
Alongside her amazing physical transformation, which undoubtedly also positively impacted her health, the reality star shared that she’s feeling much better, too. And she’s being celebrated in the comments by friends and fans alike.
Drag Race fan-favorite Jiggly Caliente congratulated Kornbread on being cancer-free with three heart emojis, while fellow season 14 contestant Kerri Colby wrote, “Wowwww sister!”
Her cancer journey
Kornbread revealed her cancer diagnosis in September 2022. She had adenocarcinoma in her small intestine. This type of cancer develops in the glands that line the organs and can spread throughout the body if left unchecked.
Depending on the prognosis, treatments may include surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy. Symptoms may vary per person, but it’s always advisable to get it early. Something Kornbread reminded her IG followers while announcing her diagnosis.
“I say this to let everyone know that no matter how young you are, PLEASE GET REGULAR checkups. I’m glad I caught mine at this stage,” she wrote.
The drag superstar also stayed positive and shared with fans that she was doing everything possible to get well again and get back on stage.
And it looks like she’s done it! That shows that investing in your health and wellness and putting in the work can yield incredible results. We wish her all the best moving forward.
