What a ride Gerry Turner has been on in 2023. The first-ever Golden Bachelor delivered some of the most wholesome moments throughout Bachelor Nation’s history. Of course, that wholesomeness came at quite a toll. The journey was never easy for Gerry, even up to his final choice. Fans were treated to utter suspense as Gerry initially made it seem that he wouldn’t choose Theresa Nist.
“I came to the realization that you’re not the right person for me to live with,” he told her. “You’re the person that I can’t live without.” The joy was palpable as they hugged. But the excitement didn’t stop there, as fans were soon treated to a special announcement. Bring on The Golden Wedding!
The Golden Wedding: Coming soon to ABC!
As the Golden Bachelor finale hit the airwaves on November 30, there was more than one surprise in store for viewers. Jesse Palmer revealed that Gerry and Theresa would have their wedding on TV, available for fans to see the culmination of their relationship. The wedding special is slated for January 4 on ABC.
“We’re going to do it as quickly as we can,” Gerry teased, “because, at our age, we don’t have a lot of time to waste. As quickly as we can put together a wedding plan, we are getting married.” Not only has the wedding been planned, but the honeymoon as well.
Jesse asked the couple if they remembered their first date. “We both learned that you wanted to speak Italian and you were hoping one day you could go visit Italy. Well, buon viaggio! That’s right, because are sending you on a romantic vacation to Italy!” Gerry noted how “convenient” the trip would be, timed just after the wedding.
Once again, The Golden Wedding airs January 4 on ABC.
