The Traitors Finale: CT Almost Wrote Trishelle Cannatella’s Name Down

The Traitors Season 2 finale has aired, with Trishelle Cannatella and CT Tamburello finally able to celebrate their hefty win. The pair from MTV’s The Real World and The Challenge stuck together in the end, voting to banish Sandra Diaz-Twine and Mercedes “MJ” Javid during the intense roundtable and fire of truth discussions.

However, it wasn’t that easy. The first set of votes between MJ, Trishelle, and CT resulted in a three-way tie, with every contestant voting for another person. When they cast their votes again, the Shahs of Sunset star was the unlucky Faithful cut out of the earnings.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Trishelle and CT spoke about their alliance, the rough patch they hit in the middle of the road, and crossing MJ at the very end.

The explosive finale, where Trishelle and CT eventually cut MJ to split the money between themselves, seemed like the perfect ending. But according to Trishelle, she always planned to have her friend’s back.

“CT and I don’t need to constantly hang out with each other to know that we are on the same page,” she said. “It’s like we are brothers and sisters. We can talk bad about each other, we can give each other crap, but nobody else can. So we knew that we were going to be tight.”

So, when Trishelle wrote CT’s name down during the first spin around the block, it surprised everyone. However, she said she wasn’t trying to cut him out of the money.

“I was letting the game paranoia get to me. Alan had said something like, Well, there could still be a Traitor amongst us, and Alan [Cumming] is super convincing,” she said. “So I was like, ‘Oh my God, he’s talking about CT, isn’t he?’ Because I just knew that MJ was not a Traitor. I didn’t think she could pull it off and lie like that.”

Although we know how the moment played out now, it could’ve been a very different ending had CT flipped his vote to Trishelle. “Back in the day, I would’ve been like, ‘Oh yeah? F you. Let’s get her, MJ,'” he revealed. “I don’t know why MJ wrote your name down twice, though. I thought she would’ve been mad at me.”
