Jasmine Ellis Cooper opened up about her husband Silas Cooper’s harsh treatment toward her last summer. If you watched Season 1 of Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard, you likely saw the unrealistic expectations Silas placed on Jasmine’s shoulders during their first year of marriage. For example, he wanted his breakfast in the morning and expected her to be home before 2 A.M. when out with her girls.
During Jasmine’s Watch What Happens Live appearance, she told Andy Cohen that she discussed her concerns with Silas and had since seen improvement.
“[His behavior] was unacceptable. Period,” Jasmine said. “But, I think only I have the proximity and the power to hold him accountable, which I’ve done since then.”

Since Silas was deployed during the filming of Season 2, fans have missed out on seeing his growth this summer. However, Jasmine said watching most of the episodes back helped him realize things needed to change. She even revealed he hadn’t seen the “last two episodes” of the season because “it’s hard for him.”
“But he has a bunch of women in his family, and they definitely told him about himself, too,” she said. “So, taking a step back [and] seeing how much he was going through and suffering… but the way he went about it wasn’t right. So, yeah … counseling works. I’ll just put it that way.”
On the other hand, Jasmine and Silas just welcomed their new baby, Silas Cooper Jr.
In November 2023, Jasmine discussed what it was like filming Season 2 of the series while pregnant without her husband. “Going into this season filming Summer House, I knew that I was going to let them know, but I really wanted to cross over that barrier from first trimester to second trimester, so as soon as I was in the clear and that second trimester hit, I let my castmates know,” she said.
“The way it plays out this season is actually really funny. Some people maybe suspected, but for the most part, I don’t think they had any idea. It’s going to be fun for the viewers to watch. I know that it’s going to be really special.”
