Andy Cohen recently returned from a trip and got back to the work he is best known for. Yes, we are talking about The Real Housewives, where the TV host opened up about Bravo’s potential casting moves for scrapped Real Housewives franchises.
Andy Cohen says Bravo has tried casting potential Real Housewives in Nashville, Chicago, and Greenwich, Connecticut
Recently, the 58-year-old TV host spoke with Variety about several Bravo shows. He also revealed which cities could potentially get their own Housewives franchise, including Nashville, Chicago, and Greenwich, Connecticut.
Cohen said, “The answer is the cities that we want are usually the ones that are not obvious.”
“We’ve cast in Nashville two or three times. We’ve cast in Chicago two or three times, we’ve cast in Greenwich, Connecticut. When you look at Potomac and you look at Rhode Island, Salt Lake City before everybody started doing reality shows in Salt Lake City, these are places that people hadn’t thought of. So I think it’s going to be more like that,” he added.
When Cohen faced questions about the potential spinoffs, the producer said they have yet to find the right groups of women.
Cohen said, “Meaning we have cast wide nets and put groups of women on camera who could be potential Housewives, but that we’ve just not found the right groups yet.”
As for Bravo’s franchise, it currently has 12 American installments. The franchise began with RHOC in 2006 and later expanded to New York City, Atlanta, New Jersey, D.C., Beverly Hills, Miami, Potomac, Dallas, Salt Lake City, Dubai, and Rhode Island.
Andy Cohen oversees all 12 American installments, as well as The Real Housewives of Dubai. However, he is not part of the international editions such as The Real Housewives of Melbourne, Cheshire, or Durban.
