Dance Moms Alum Chloé Lukasiak Realizes She ‘Should Probably Go to Therapy’

Chloé Lukasiak spent several years on Dance Moms. Fans of the show will remember the reality star dancing her heart out, arguing with Abby Lee Miller, and her daring mother, Christie Lukasiak. But after an explosive argument in an earlier season, Chloé and Christie walked away from the show for good, leaving some of her fellow OGs, like Nia Sioux and Maddie Ziegler, behind.

Today, Chloé is back, and she’s discussing all of the tea from her time on the show and how it impacted her well-being.

Chloé was ready to close this chapter

In an interview with People, Chloé said that after years away from the camera, it made her realize several things. “It made me realize I should probably go to therapy,” she joked. “[There’s a lot of] things I need to heal from, but it was good to look back and just appreciate. I didn’t expect it at all when they brought up the idea of a reunion. I was just like, ‘Yeah, that sounds good.'”

The Dance Moms reunion will feature many of the show’s cast members, with the exception of Nia, Maddie, and Mackenzie Ziegler. According to Chloé, their absence made sense.

“I think immediately after the show, we all needed our space in some way,” she said. “Whether we left in season 4 or season 5 or 8 or whatever. I think after an emotionally charged environment like that … you need to step away, heal, just take time for yourself.”

Chloé continued, saying she wanted to be her “own person outside of the show.” She added that saying “goodbye” and moving on while “showing my appreciation” was best for her.

The reunion special, set to air on May 1, will feature several of the cast members and their mothers, including Brooke and Paige Hyland and JoJo Siwa
