Why Elizabeth Day Turned Down Real Housewives of London

One honorary Bravolebrity is Elizabeth Day. The award-winning author and podcast host has appeared on Watch What Happens Live in the past, and was a host during the 2024 Hayu Fan Fest.

Speaking of which, it was at this event that it was announced The Real Housewives of London is officially in development. Of course, Elizabeth was a quick contender among fans to join the inaugural cast. Will she become a real housewife? She just addressed the rumor.

Elizabeth Day doesn’t think she could handle Real Housewives of London

Elizabeth was a recent guest on Alison Hammond’s Smart TV podcast. It was during her segment that she revealed whether or not she will be in the UK spin-off.

“I did have a conversation about it, but it was very informal, and it would be brilliant, but it would remove my enjoyment of the show as a viewer,” she explained.

Not only this, but the author admitted that she doesn’t think she is ready for the full-on attention just yet.

“I don’t think I could cope. Well, I’ve already said no, but I couldn’t cope because there’s also a lot of online attention that these Housewives get. I don’t know if I’ve got the cojones for it anyway.”

This puts the rumored cast list for RHOL Season 1 back to square one. However, OG Bravo fans know that the network used to have a UK-based reality series called Ladies of London. After three seasons, the show ended in 2017. A comeback of some of those stars might not be a bad idea.

The Real Housewives of London is expected to premiere on Hayu in late 2025.
