Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle could have been the reason why Prince Harry did not meet King Charles while recently visiting the United Kingdom. The member of the British royal family passed up the opportunity to see his ailing father, who recently spent some time in the hospital amid his cancer treatment. A new report has now alleged that Harry feared his wife, Meghan, would be “upset” if he had visited the monarch.
‘Insider’ claims Prince Harry feared Meghan Markle will be ‘upset’ if he visited King Charles
Prince Harry recently missed the chance to meet King Charles. That is because he may have been reportedly worried about Meghan Markle’s reaction. RadarOnline.com exclusively learned from an insider that the 40-year-old royal “would have liked to pay his dad a visit. However, he didn’t. The insider alleged, “Everyone is saying it was his fear of upsetting Meghan that held him back.”
Harry reportedly returned to London, United Kingdom, on April 7, shortly after King Charles’ brief hospital visit. BBC reported in March that the 76-year-old British monarch was hospitalized for a short time. This was after he experienced temporary side effects during cancer treatment. The Buckingham Palace first announced Charles’s cancer diagnosis in February 2024.
The insider shared with RadarOnline.com that “Charles was in town for a rescheduled cancer treatment.” They stated, “Harry could have arranged a morning meeting and gone to see his dad as soon as he landed.” The insider added, “Or even better, flown in the day before to see him.” However, Harry reportedly passed up the chance to see Charles.
Harry and Meghan’s ties with the royal family turned sour after they made bombshell claims in multiple interviews. In 2020, the prince gave up his official palace duties. Harry then moved to California with his wife, with whom he shares two children. Harry’s dynamics with his family members have remained estranged since.
According to a RadarOnline.com source, “It seems clear that she’s [Meghan] happy to have the distance.” They also claimed that Harry would have had to “face her anger” if he had “tried to get in to have a word with Charles.”
It’s worth highlighting that the claims came from the reported “insider.” Neither Prince Harry nor his wife, Meghan Markle, has commented on it.
