We’re devastated to share the news that Kirk Medas from Floribama Shore has passed away at the age of 33. The news comes just days after we learned he had been hospitalized for two weeks battling a case of necrotizing pancreatitis. Now, tributes are pouring in from his loved ones as his MTV castmates reflect on their memories with him.

News of Kirk’s complicated medical condition arrived via his co-star, Aimee Hall. As one of his closest friends on the cast, she shared an image of Kirk connected to ventilators along with a message about his two-week recovery in the hospital.
“Our friend Kirk has been in the ICU for over two weeks now, battling a severe case of necrotizing pancreatitis. He’s currently on a ventilator, and the situation is incredibly serious,” Aimee wrote, along with a call for prayers and donations.
On Friday, May 2, the Floribama Shore cast followed up with the update we were hoping not to hear. The infection in his pancreas became too severe to fight, and he died in the hospital.
“We lost our brother, our best friend, our heart — Kirk,” Aimee shared in a follow-up post. “I was at the beach when I felt it. Before the call even came, a dolphin kept coming up to me, as if to say goodbye. Kirk and I shared a love for dolphins and the ocean, and in that moment, I just knew.”
Since the announcement, tributes have been rolling in from the entire Floribama Shore cast. Everyone is sharing their favorite memories with him, both on and off screen. They might have met as strangers thanks to MTV, but now, they’re family. Rest in peace, Kirk!
