Survivor is about to hit a major milestone. The beloved competition show will celebrate its 50th season next year, and production is bringing fans in on the action to honor the accomplishment. For months, fans have been voting online to decide major game decisions, including whether or not to give the Survivor 50 cast rice, and the fate of the final four fire making twist. One aspect of the game that viewers do not have a say in is the Survivor 50 cast. The cast list is still under wraps, but fans have theories about which castaways will return.
Here are the latest Survivor 50 cast rumors…
Survivor 50 cast rumors: Colby Donaldson
Fans first met Colby Donaldson when he was a contestant on Survivor: The Australian Outback in 2001. The Texas native was beloved by fans and is often considered Survivor’s first “hero.”
He was revered for his affable personality and physical strength, winning an impressive number of individual immunity challenges post-merge. In fact, he was so adored that Colby became one of the most popular baby names in 2001. After his first season, he tried his hand at an acting career, scoring a minor role in the 2005 horror movie Red Eye and a guest appearance on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
He later appeared in Survivor: All-Stars and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, but his performances paled in comparison to his first season. However, if the rumors are true, Colby may be vying for a redemption arc on Survivor 50.
Amanda Kimmel may be on the Survivor 50 cast
At the Heroes vs. Villains reunion, Jeff Probst said Amanda Kimmel lacked the “killer instinct” to win Survivor. It seemed a bit harsh, but he had a point.
Amanda made it to the finale in her first two seasons but failed to bring home a win. She’s a great social player, but she struggles to make risky moves. She never won over a jury, but the California native has a huge fanbase who want to see her play again. After Heroes vs Villains, Amanda told People magazine she would never play Survivor again.
Of course, a lot can change in 15 years…
Genevieve Mushaluk could return for the Survivor 50 cast
Fans were pitching Genevieve Mushaluk’s name for Survivor 50 the second her torch got snuffed on Survivor 47.
Genevieve played a cutthroat and conniving game that impressed viewers and made her fellow castaways distrust her. Her bold moves made her a target, making her road to victory challenging. She didn’t leave Fiji with a check, but she certainly left her mark on the game.
There is a rumor that one Survivor 47 castaway has already been cast in Survivor 50. Many fans believe Genevieve is the castaway in question. I certainly hope so. I would love to see her play with some of the greats.
Ozzy Lusth is a big name on the rumored Survivor 50 cast
Ozzy Lusth has played Survivor four times but he’s never managed to win the title of Sole Survivor. His athleticism proved to be a double-edged sword, helping him in challenges but also making him a huge threat.
Ozzy’s fellow castaways never afforded him a path to the end, cutting him loose the second the immunity necklace escaped his neck. He is one of many names floating around the Survivor 50 rumor mill. Do I think he has a shot to win if he returns? Of course not. Do I want to see him try? Of course! Get him to Fiji ASAP!
Is Elisabeth Hasselbeck on the Survivor 50 cast?
Before she was yelling at Joy Behar on The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck was a castaway on Season 2 of Survivor. For years, fans thought Elisabeth returning was merely a pipe dream, but a recent podcast appearance has fans wondering is she is a contender for Survivor 50.
The interviewer brought up the upcoming season and mentioned that Elisabeth may get an invitation to return. She simply smiled and laughed, which caught the attention of viewers. We may be reading too much into a smile, but I hope not. Elisabeth’s return would be historic.
Survivor is available to stream on Paramount+.
