The latest episodes of Sister Wives were extremely emotional as we see the family dealing with the tragic death of Garrison Brown. Kody Brown and Janelle Brown’s son died by suicide in 2024 and now fans are now seeing how his parents dealt with the pain of his loss.
For Janelle and Kody, who laid their son to rest in Wyoming, the grief is heart-wrenching. And it shows as they do their best to handle the mourning process. The show highlights that everyone grieves in their own way and that, despite everything, they all loved Garrison deeply. And Kody, took the loss very hard.

The patriarch revealed that he experienced “anxiety attacks” while navigating overwhelming waves of loss.
“Grief hits you in waves. When it hits me, I can’t run from it,” Kody shared in a candid look at the grief he endured since Garrison’s suicide. Garrison was just 25 years old.
In a display of vulnerability, Kody added, “If I cry it out, or if I sob it out, I can cut it short, but when that wave comes, I cannot prevent it from affecting me. I was the first person that held him. This is my son. I rocked him to sleep. This is part of my mourning process.”
The sadness of losing his son is bad enough but Kody is also filled with a lot of regret about the many what-ifs.
The father and son were estranged prior to Garrison’s death and now Kody wishes he had spoken to him more and wonders if things would have been different if he had done things differently.
“Sometimes out of the blue, it’ll overcome me,” Kody admitted. “Like some kind of anxiety attack. Just a deep overwhelming feeling that I’ll never see him again. There’s so much left unsaid, so much left undone. I will always wonder what was missed in the future that would have been.”
It has been a rough road and everyone in the Brown family is honoring Garrison in their own way. Janelle regularly shares tributes to her son on social media sharing bits and pieces of his life. And Sister Wives fans even donated to an animal shelter to commemorate Garrison’s love for animals.
