Bret was announced as one of the men vying for Clare Crawley’s heart on The Bachelorette. However, the coronavirus shutdown halted production on the show. When production picked up four months later, Bret was no longer part of the cast.
According to Monsters & Critics, Bret decided to leave the show because the timing didn’t work. “I couldn’t make it happen with the delayed timing. My sons needed me to help coach during football season, and I would have missed the first few games if I went on the show,” Bret shared via Instagram. “Just bad timing for me.”
Fun fact: Demi and her then-husband, Blake Corbin, secretly submitted The Bachelorette application for Bret. As for Demi, she met Bret when she was nine years old and he was married to wife number one. If Bret had been on The Bachelorette, would things have worked out differently? I wonder.
Demi took the villain crown from Whitney Leavitt for Season 2. And Bret is backing up Demi no matter what the situation. He voices his support, believing that Demi is always right.
