Since they first met, Luke Broderick has told Kristen Doute that he doesn’t want to settle in LA.
Though it would be a loss for the show, The Valley stars have always planned to move outside of California. And now they have a timeline. The fact that Kristen is expecting a baby girl in June has a bearing on when and where they’ll go.
“We said … that we didn’t want to raise our daughter here in LA,” Kristen said in April. “But we don’t mean we’re moving like tomorrow or even like a year from now. Just before she’s school age.”

Wedding plans are on hold until after the birth of their baby, but they’re still making plans for the future. Since they met at a wedding in 2022, Luke’s been clear that he didn’t want LA to be his forever home. “It was, like, kind of a thing for Luke.” Kristen told The Daily Dish, “that … I would not keep him in LA forever.”
Although she knows the move is inevitable, Kristen hopes she can still stay close to her friends in The Valley. “We can always have a place in LA that we can kind of go to and from,” Kristen added. “Right now, Tennessee is on the table because it’s entertainment, but they don’t prioritize entertainment as a way of life.”
Further, Luke has his eye on Nashville, as it’s relatively close to both of their families. “It’d be like five hours from my family, eight hours from her family,” he explained. “[That’s] not real close, but you can drive down for the weekend with that kind of distance.”
“I’m talking like four, five years from now,” Kristen clarified. Ideally, the couple would like to make the move before their daughter starts school. “[Luke] doesn’t understand living in a city where you can pay $1 million and get like a two-bedroom home.”
But in Tennessee, “We can have an acre and a 3,000-square-foot house for under a million dollars,” Luke added. “You can’t do that in Los Angeles.”
