Below Deck Down Under Season 3 has officially come and gone. Within this season, Marina Marcondes de Barros was rather unlucky in love. That is, until Nicolas Cattelan walked on board. Unlike the man who came and weaseled out before, Nic knew what he wanted, and what he wanted was Marina.
From his entrance until the very end of this season, Nic and Marina slowly bonded. Their bond resulted in a few stolen kisses one night at a club, which helped to launch these two self-described, unproblematic nerds into another category of boatmance participants. From charming picnics to non-romantic (yet also sweet) talks about how things work on deck, Nic and Marina stole fans’ hearts as a pairing this season on BDDU. So, where do Marina and Nic currently stand now that their cameras have gone dark on BDDU Season 3?

Before Nic boarded this Bravo-based yacht, Marina carried a small flame for Wihan du Toit. Unfortunately, Wihan enjoyed having her attention, alongside the concentration of another female on board. But by the time a third crush crossed his path, viewers were screaming at Marina to uphold her worth and run far, far away from all things Wihan. Thankfully, Bravo, aided by the behaviors of Wihan, aided in this by sending Wihan and one of his loyal deckhands home in Episode 11.
By the end of this same episode, Nic and his deep voice came on to help save this season. After a few flirty conversations involving sci-fi, the logistics of how a hot tub works, and their mutual feelings for each other, Marina quipped that she is only a human, a woman, standing in front of a fellow nerd. So, she was eager to see where this boatmance went.
As for Nic, he similarly noted that Marina is adorable via one of his first confessionals. However, Nic was a late bloomer, receiving his first kiss at age 19. “Growing up, I did not approach women. I often say thank God for feminism because then they ask me out a couple of times,” Nic joked.

As BDDU Season 3 wrapped, Marina realized she saw a future with Nic. Nic reciprocated her feelings. So, these two yachties started planning a post-season trip to help cement their relationship.
“I don’t want you thinking that I don’t want you in South Africa,” Marina said to Nic during Episode 17. “I’m just too shy to ask you to come. But like, f*ck it. I want you [there] every single day [and] I want to wake up [and] have breakfast with you and make the best out of the week we’d have together,” she further stressed.
“I would love to join you,” Nic answered. Several beats later, Nic confessed, “I don’t want to have any expectations about where this goes. I’m just going to appreciate what we have while we have it.”
Then, after saying their goodbyes, these two lovebirds left the yacht together, eager to start dating far away from the lenses of Bravo. Now, Marina is a second stew on a 60-meter yacht, as stated on Bravo’s The Daily Dish. Nic, however, does not appear to be on board with her. So, have Marina and Nic broken up?

Tragically, there will be no reunion for the cast of BDDU Season 3. Yet, we have uncovered a hot clue that teases Nic and Marina might have made it out of this season intact. Hopefully, our instincts are correct, as we love the duo that is Nic and Marina.
Several days ago, Nic took to his Instagram account, writing, “Always remember what the real treasure is. Lembre-se sempre de qual é o verdadeiro tesouro.” The latter part repeats the first, penned underneath an image of a loved-up Nic and Marina. Nic tagged Marina in this post, which she quickly commented on with a red heart.
When a fan commented, asking Marina if this was her lover, Marina responded with a yes. But when another asked if they were still lovers, only crickets, carrying songs of silence, returned. However, when a third fan commented, noting that Marina and Nic “look alike,” Marina wrote, “He is a cutie, so I’ll take this as a compliment.”
If Marina and Nic had experienced a horrible breakup following BDDU Season 3, I doubt Nic would have ever made this loving post. Likewise, Marina used the word “is,” which is a present-day verb. Based on our findings, these two are likely still together. If not this, then they at least experienced a friendly pause, which might one day see them reconnecting in this industry.
