Chief Stew Fraser Olender is reporting something I don’t think has ever happened on Below Deck. Apparently, deckhand Kyle Stillie hooked up with a married guest – while her husband was on board!
In Bravo’s sneak peek of Season 12, one of the crew members jokes, “Stillie’s in there either making our tip or losing our tip.”
According to Fraser, Kyle’s behavior definitely crossed a line. “I’ve done it before, so I can’t speak on [hooking up with a guest],” he told Us Weekly. “What is a hard no is on charter. [Additionally,] what is a hard no is potentially engaging in something whilst their married significant other is also around.”
Below Deck’s Kyle Stillie hooking up with a married guest is “the beginning of the end” on Season 12
“It was definitely [the most explosive thing I have been a part of],” he shared. “This situation then was the catalyst of so many other problems. And this really did spiral into something that no one saw coming. So it’s the beginning of the end.”
While he understands the incident will make for great television, it was definitely cringey at the time. “It’s so good,” he teased. “I’m like, ‘Wow.’ But in the moment, we wanted to crumble.”
Bravo released the official trailer for Below Deck Season 12 in April. In the trailer, Kyle potentially hooks up with a guest on the beach, while his coworkers watch.
“[Kyle] is so mischievous and so badly behaved,” Fraser said. “But he’s a good guy at his core.”
Ultimately, Captain Kerry Titheradge stepped in. “He definitely responded in a way in which he needed to,” Fraser explained. “I’m glad he did what he did when he did it.”
“Captain Kerry will forgive 100 percent as long as he knows your intention,” the yachtie added. “If your intention is in the right place, then that man has got you. And Kyle’s a good person. He was following someone else’s leadership, and he was hanging around the wrong people last season.”
But as forgiving as Captain Kerry may be, sometimes he has no choice but to lower the boom. “There are firings, [and] there are hirings,” Fraser revealed. “There are disasters left, right and center. But I cannot tell you enough how dramatic and how fun this season is. It is nonstop.”
Below Deck Season 12 premieres June 2 at 8/7c on Bravo. The show airs on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
