Jersey Shore’s Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino Hit With $2.3 Million Tax Lien

It looks like the cast of the Jersey Shore will have to change GTL to Gym, Taxes, Laundry. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has been hit with a $2.3 million tax lien. The MTV star is in hot water with the IRS. Mike’s tax issues began in 2014, when he was accused of federal tax fraud. In 2018, he was sentenced to eight months behind bars. Here’s what we know.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has two open and unpaid tax liens against him

Six years after his prison release, The Sun revealed that Mike still has an outstanding tax amount due. The outlet confirmed that the 42-year-old has a total of two tax liens filed against him in 2022. Both liens are still active and unpaid, according to a clerk. The source confirmed the Jersey Shore star “owes $9,324, and that the IRS debt, which was filed in November of 2022, is open and unpaid.”

However, in a different county, the clerk confirmed that Mike still owes $2,295,745, which stems from an April 2022 bill. According to the source, “There is no release on that lien; it is still open.” If two were not enough, Mike has a third county confirming that he has an outstanding tax lien from 2018.

The clerk explained, “There is a release for his 2018 lien. He paid $119,825.26 in 2024.” The insider added that when a tax lien is fully paid off, it will be marked as “released” by the IRS.

Mike’s tax attorney, Kristen Saltillo, told the outlet that their client is in the process of making things right. The statement read, “Michael Sorrentino entered into a repayment plan with the IRS more than 2 years ago, and he has been making regular payments, consistent with that agreement, on a monthly basis.”

Jersey Shore is available to stream on MTV.
