Welcome back, Below Deck Mediterranean fans! Last week, Aesha temporarily joined the deck team, Kayley stepped into the role of chief stew (which Gen hated), and Joe stepped up to cover for Nathan after his injury. As Captain Sandy says, teamwork makes the dreamwork. So let’s see how these new leaders fared on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 10.

What happened in Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 10?

Aesha, Joe, and Kayley tackle their new roles. The pressure is also on for Cooper and Kat. Cracks are starting to form in their relationship, thanks to outside influences. But thankfully, a day off is on the calendar, and someone new(ish) has finally been hired to alleviate the crew’s pressures.

Joe is the “acting bosun” of Below Deck Med Season 11

For the first time in Captain Sandy’s career, she is down a bosun and a deckhand, and her chief stew is working outside. There are only two fully capable deckhands now, since Cooper is green. Thankfully, Joy is eager to “see what is outside of this world.” So, Captain Sandy makes her an honorary deckie for tomorrow’s docking.

During dinner service, Kayley impresses everyone but Gen. If her former bosses could see her now, serving caviar and oysters on bread plates, they’d die, she promises in her confessional. The guests couldn’t care less, though.

In the morning, Joe flashes Kayley, and she semi-reciprocates, laughing. Cooper also laughs, because those two are “on the same wavelength.” But when it comes to him and Kat, Cooper feels pressured by everyone talking about their crush. So no, he tells a producer, he and Kat are NOT “on the same wavelength.”

It’s finally docking time! Kayley, Gen, and Kat also head outside, and Joe gives them all a quick lesson. Joy gets the hardest assignment, working the anchor. Her hands are insured, though, “up to 700k,” so she’s fine with it.

It’s tense, but everything goes well. Back in the galley, Joy receives a text from Luke. He is thinking about her, he says. “Good,” she writes back.

The guests depart, leaving a $21,000 tip. Nathan is still down, though, so Captain Sandy needs Aesha and Kayley to stay where they are. Giving him a “fully erect” appendage, she also makes Joe an “acting bosun.” And, making everyone happy, they all have the day off at a beach club tomorrow.

Cooper makes Kat cry

Gen calls her mom, telling her she is “covering Kayley’s ass.” She radios for Aesha next, and then spends several minutes complaining to Aesha as well. Aesha clocks her, though, kindly reminding Gen to respect Kayley.

In her confessional, Gen boasts about her resume. She also wonders why Aesha is “so accepting of these little slip-ups.” After their talk, Gen walks away, mumbling, while Aesha admits that Gen is good at her job, but she needs to learn how to “uplift, not backstab.”

But that’s not going to happen today. Instead, Gen hopes their next group is hard, so “cracks will show.” Also, Gen prefers leaders who yell and micromanage, she tells a shocked Kat.

The crew heads out to dinner, which happens to be in the sky. They buckle into their seats, and the crane activates, giving them views for days. There’s an awkward energy between Kat and Cooper, though. And when Luke texts Joy again, Gen sighs, confused by the grace Joy keeps extending.

In their sprinter van, Joy warns Cooper that if he breaks Kat’s heart, she will break his face. This is what Cooper hates, though, everyone’s comments. So at the club, he decides to dance with a random woman. Kat leaves, crying.

Likewise, Joe tests the waters with Kayley, asking her if she’d get mad about him talking to another woman. Kayley will not, she says. She passed the test, Joe tells her. Tests, however, are not how we treat our friends, Kayley says in her interview.

Captain Sandy, dressed as a pirate, wakes Aesha. She hired a pirate ship to take the crew to the beach. Insert all the “arghhs” here.

On the ship, Cooper approaches Kat, but shortly after, he walks away. Kat is the marrying kind, you idiot, Joy basically tells him. On the beach, Luke sends Joy even more texts, but when Gen asks people not to talk about him, they don’t listen. Gen walks away, mad.

Cooper checks on her, and they return to the group. Back on the yacht, a text finally comes through. One of Captain Sandy’s former Bravo yachties is free to come aboard!

Then, Cooper randomly (and quickly) ends things with Kat. To break the tension, Aesha rattles a maraca, incessantly, for the rest of the night. On the boat, Kat texts Cooper, and they agree to meet in the bosun’s locker.

They are both tired of outside voices. They agree to stay together, but tell everyone the opposite. Yeah … I hate this.

In the morning, Joe receives his bosun stripes, and Kayley tries to make peace with Gen. Gen smiles, but in her interview, she makes a joke about Kayley being on fire, saying she would help, but not use her strongest hose. Yeah … I hate this, too.

As Episode 10 ends, we finally learn who is returning to Below Deck Med. It’s Max Salvador-Holz, and he is already on board, somersaulting his way down the hall.

Below Deck Mediterranean continues Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
