On Thursday, Gigi and Bella Hadid made a shocking revelation about a secret sister, stating that a genetic test confirmed they were half-siblings. The exclusive news came directly from the supermodel duo, and the Daily Mail confirmed that Aydan Nix, a 23-year-old graduate from Parsons School of Design, is their younger sibling.
The sisters reportedly met for the first time about two years ago and have since bonded closely, to the extent that Nix has entered Bella and Gigi’s inner circle. The latter two also claimed they cherish “this unexpected and beautiful addition.”
‘As siblings, we’ve had many open and loving conversations,’ Hadid sisters shared
The Daily Mail shared exclusive details about Gigi and Bella Hadid’s relationship with their half-sister, Aydan Nix, whom they just introduced to the world. The latter’s mom, Terri Hatfield Dull, became pregnant with her during a brief relationship with their father, Mohamed Hadid, after his and Yolanada’s divorce in 2001. Mohamed seemingly maintains a “cordial and pleasant relationship” with Nix, but hasn’t been open about it.
As for Gigi and Bella, family members confirmed that the duo has been “becoming closer” with their half-sibling. However, neither had spoken out until Thursday, when they released an official statement to the outlet to confirm the news. In the statement, the family admitted that their father’s “brief relationship” with Dull “led to a pregnancy.”
Growing up in Florida, Nix had believed someone else to be her father until his sudden passing when she was 19. She then took “a genetic test out of curiosity” and discovered her biological connection to their family.
Gigi and Bella Hadid also mentioned that they first “connected in late 2023” and have since “embraced Aydan with open arms.” Their half-sister reportedly spent time with the whole family, including their dad. “As siblings, we’ve had many open and loving conversations – with Aydan included – about how to support and protect her,” the family stated. They urged others to respect and value Nix and her family’s privacy.
The Daily Mail’s source close to the Hadid family further noted that Mohamed is fond of his secret daughter. However, he isn’t ready to accept her as his sixth child yet. The real estate developer hasn’t been a part of her life, and still isn’t “ready to publicly acknowledge her as his sixth child.” The source claimed that while “there’s mutual respect” between them, “there’s also discretion.”
