When last we heard from Family Karma star Monica Vaswani, she and Rish Karam were headed for the altar. But apparently, there’s trouble in paradise. The aspiring Bollywood choreographer has now called off the wedding, claiming her fiancé was cheating on her.
Sadly, cameras went down on the beloved show at the end of Season 3, following the fabulous traditional three-day wedding of Amrit Kapai and Nicholas Kouchoukos. At the time, Bravo claimed the show was “on pause,” with no set return date.
But with the drama heating up, perhaps Bravo will take another look at this award-winning show.
Did Family Karma’s Rish Karam cheat on Monica Vaswani?
A refreshing change from battling Housewives, Family Karma portrayed a close-knit group of family and friends. Just recently, Amrit and Nicholas announced they’re expecting a baby by surrogate in December. And now Monica has called off her engagement amid accusations of cheating.
On June 1, Monica wrote on Instagram, “So done with all the lies. This isn’t the same girl that was blinded by you while filming. Did you think that I was dumb?” The post overlaid a background of packs of condoms.
Additionally, the content creator posted a screenshot seemingly from one of the girls Rish was seeing. “We kissed. He said he was single. Wanted to see me today. Good luck,” read the message.
In response to Monica’s accusations, Rish claimed they broke up over a month ago. Allegedly, Monica asked him not to talk publicly about the split, as she “needed time to process.” He added a photo of Monica’s parents helping to move her things out of their shared apartment as proof.
“[Monica] entered my apartment … while I was traveling out of the country [and] went through my belongings,” he wrote. “[She was only seeking] out of context photos to post on social media.”
“I never cheated on her,” Rish continued. “[I] only wanted to give her my absolute best while we were in a relationship.”
Vlogger Kempire gets my thoughts exactly when he says Bravo’s really missing the boat here. “Can you imagine the aunties and uncles’ reaction, specifically her dad?” Monica’s dad, Raj Vaswani, is notoriously protective of his only child.
