There’s some weird energy between Gia Giudice and Riley Burruss ahead of the Next Gen NYC premiere. Supposedly, it’s not “that deep,” but that doesn’t mean we can’t talk about it.
This drama started when Gia went on her Casual Chaos podcast and said that Riley got frustrated when she tried comparing Real Housewives of Atlanta to Real Housewives of New Jersey. Gia said that Riley seemed “really offended.” Now, she’s opening up even more about the tension between them, and it doesn’t sound like it’s gotten any better.
Gia Giudice didn’t think Riley Burruss drama “was that deep”
After growing up on Bravo, it’s no surprise to see Gia continuing to comment on her situation with Riley. She spoke with Us Weekly ahead of the upcoming premiere, and she clarified the comments she made about Riley on her podcast.
“I didn’t think it was that deep,” Gia said. “I don’t know how to please her, I guess.”
According to Gia, she was never trying to compare Kandi Burruss to Teresa Giudice. Obviously, the only thing those two really have in common is that they were both Real Housewives. Gia said she was just trying to make small talk with Riley.
She explained, “I literally was just trying to break bread, make some conversation. All I was saying was, obviously, every Housewife franchise has its own niche … But at the end of the day, they also have the same common denominator. They’re friend groups with drama.”
“I really was just like, our moms are on reality TV,” she continued. “They’re both on Bravo. I don’t know, she didn’t really like it, I guess.”
Gia noted that she saw a TikTok of someone criticizing her for the comparison, which might be why she felt so compelled to comment further on something that didn’t feel “deep.” She reiterated that she didn’t mean anything “offensive” by her comments. However, it still seems like there might be an icy relationship between the two.
