Below Deck’s Captain Kerry Titheradge Reveals How Kate Chastain Hurt His Feelings; Kate Responds

When Kate Chastain was announced as a cast member on House of Villains Season 3, we weren’t exactly sure if she should be considered a “villain.” However, the latest tea from Below Deck star Captain Kerry Titheradge seems to suggest otherwise. She’s a villain in his eyes.

During a recent Watch What Happens Live appearance, Captain Kerry opened up about the uncomfortable interaction he had with Kate. It left a bad taste in his mouth, and his comments have sparked a reaction from Kate.

Below Deck’s Captain Kerry says Kate Chastain ignored him

Captain Kerry spilled the tea about Kate during a WWHL game called “Truth or Sick.” Andy Cohen put some tough questions on the screen and challenged Captain Kerry and Hannah Ferrier to keep their answers as honest as possible.

It started off tamely. Andy asked Hannah to say nice things about Captain Sandy Yawn, whom she recently made up with after a years-long feud. Then things took a shady turn when Andy asked Kerry, “Name one Bravoleb or Housewife who wasn’t so kind to you at a past BravoCon or Fan Fest?”

Kerry was hesitant to answer at first, but after a little prodding from Hannah, he finally came clean. He said Kate was rude and ignored him at an event. The interaction left him feeling not-so-great.

“Yeah, I don’t think she likes me,” Kerry said of Kate. “She says g’day to my girlfriend and everybody but me.”

Andy could hardly wrap his head around this information. Hannah, on the other hand, said that she and Kerry were just talking about it. She wasn’t surprised.

“He genuinely told me at dinner last night that he did have his feelings hurt a little bit,” Hannah said, to which Kerry added, “I don’t know what I did. Or what I am supposed to do.”

After learning of the awkward energy between Kerry and Kate, Andy asked if the Below Deck captain was more “sensitive” from what we see on TV. That’s when Kerry admitted that, yes, he’s kind of a softie when he’s not leading a crew of yachties.

“I’m very sensitive under all of this,” Kerry teased. “I’m a very sensitive guy. I like walks on the beach, sunsets, and holding hands.”

Seriously, how could anyone be mean to this guy? Sure enough, Kate came through with a public apology underneath WWHL’s Instagram post once she caught wind of what Kerry said. She replied via Instagram, “Omg I’m so sorry @capt_kerry! There was a lot going on ?.”

Although Kerry’s feelings were hurt, it seems like there shouldn’t be any lingering tension between the two Below Deck stars. Both Kerry and Kate are slated to appear at BravoCon 2025. They can hug it out there.

Below Deck airs on Mondays at 8/7c and on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
