‘Valued’ Kelly Clarkson Received NBC’s Support Amid Talk Show Absence, ‘Source’ Claims

Kelly Clarkson is clearly one of NBC’s most valuable assets and had her TV bosses’ support during her talk show absence before news of her exit took the spotlight. A source now claimed that the network lent her a helping hand through thick and thin, especially during her brief hiatus in March and April. Moreover, she is reportedly “grateful” for this support from them as well as her “The Kelly Clarkson Show” audience.

The past couple of years have been a bumpy ride for Clarkson. After her dramatic divorce battle from her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, she learned of her pre-diabetic diagnosis and embarked on a weight-loss journey. The singer’s latest concern is her impending departure from the talk show as she fears for staff members’ livelihoods.

Kelly Clarkson ‘blown away’ by network’s support amid talk show absence, ‘source’ claims

Life & Style sheds light on the situation surrounding Kelly Clarkson’s exit from the talk show after her contract with NBC concludes. She previously took absences from “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in March and April to take her kids to meet her ex-husband, who had been sick. A source recently confirmed that the network showed unwavering support during her time away, something she is “grateful” for.

Clarkson was seemingly “blown away by how genuinely caring everyone has been,” especially the network’s executives and the audience. This lightened the load of her “hard time” so she could “focus on the most important thing, which is her family.” The source highlighted that Blackstock is “still her kids’ dad,” and his health struggles had a huge impact on them. The former couple share two kids, River and Remy, and finalized their divorce in 2022.

The insider further noted that although Clarkson “loves hosting” her NBC talk show, her kids have always been her top priority. “So, as much as the network is being kind, they are being smart too,” added the source, suggesting that “keeping Kelly happy means keeping a very successful show on the air.” Moreover, the individual stated, “Kelly is very valued by [NBC], and they have told her that whatever she needs, they will do.”

Previous speculation had suggested that Hoda Kotb would take over the reins after Clarkson’s exit once her contract with the network ends in 2026. However, last week, Kotb, who exited the “TODAY” show earlier this year in January, reportedly confirmed that she wouldn’t replace the host and put all rumors to bed.
