Maura Higgins Replaced on Love Island USA

Love Island USA has gone through quite a few casting shakeups since its premiere. For starters, the host of the dating show has changed three times. Initially, actress Arielle Vandenberg was the face of the show for the first three seasons. Then, in Seasons 4 and 5 Modern Family star Sarah Hyland took over. She was later replaced by Ariana Madix, who has been a fan-favorite ever since her Season 6 debut.

There’s more than one host involved in this dating show’s format, though. Love Island USA Aftersun launched alongside Season 6, as an after-show to the accompanying season. It includes exit-interviews with islanders right after they leave the villa and behind the scenes gossip. Its inaugural host was none other than Maura Higgins, a former islander herself who starred in Love Island UK Season 5. But, just like the main host position, her job title has been overthrown.

Love Island Australia’s Sophie Monk has replaced Maura Higgins on Love Island USA spinoff Aftersun

It was recently revealed by the Love Island USA official Instagram account that Maura has been replaced. The new host of Aftersun is Sophie Monk, a fellow reality TV icon. She’s been on everything from The Bachelorette Australia to Lego Masters.

This is quite the interesting choice, given that Sophie is also currently the host of Love Island Australia. But, this all seems to be a temporary decision. The rumor going around is that Maura is filming The Traitors US, prompting the network to hire a fill-in. After all, she never gave an official departure message to the LI fans for her Aftersun exit. But, this theory hasn’t been confirmed just yet.

Love Island USA is available to stream on Peacock.
