The recent love life of Brittany Renner has been quite the questionable rollercoaster. It was speculated a few years ago that she was dating rapper Kevin Gates. She was even featured in one of his music videos.
After numerous public appearances, the Basketball Wives star confirmed their relationship with an engagement ring in May 2025. The catch? Kevin was still legally married at the time. He tied the knot with his wife Dreka Haynes back in 2015, and as of public knowledge, they haven’t divorced yet. Nonetheless, it seems as though Brittany and Kevin wanted to continue pursuing their romance … but it didn’t last much longer.

Both Brittany and Kevin attended the 2025 BET Awards, but the couple arrived and took photos separately. It wasn’t until an interview with Real 92.3 LA at the event that Brittany dropped some serious relationship bombs.
“We got married April 6 and divorced May 28,” she shared during the segment.
The reality TV star also explained that she will be holding off on jumping back into the dating scene, per her religious conversion.
“There is a 90 day waiting period in Islam, where you have 90 days to see if you’re pregnant because then he would be responsible. But also in those 90 days, it’s for recommendation because the law wants you to stay married. And during those 90 days, you are not to entertain anybody romantically.”
It is important to note that it’s illegal for someone to be legally married to two people at one time. So either Kevin and Dreyka secretly divorced, or his marriage with Brittany wasn’t official.
Either way, she’s back to living the single life, at least for the next 90 days.
