It hasn’t been an easy year for Marcus Jordan. The son of Michael Jordan is facing several charges and was scheduled to go to court this June. However, his DUI trial date is now being pushed back to a later date.
Marcus is no stranger to being in the news. If not for his famous dad then for his former relationship with Real Housewives of Miami star Larsa Pippen. When that relationship did not end well, he didn’t really handle it with grace. And early this year, he made the news all over again.
Marcus Jordan’s DUI trial date has been pushed back a few months
Marcus was arrested on February 4 when cops found his Lamborghini Urus on the railroad tracks in Florida. And if that wasn’t bad enough, footage of his arrest was revealed where he name-dropped his famous dad and essentially made a fool of himself.
He failed a sobriety test and was slapped with three charges including felony for ketamine possession and two misdemeanors for driving under the influence and resisting an officer.
When he was sober, Marcus accepted that he had a problem and needed help. He postponed a trial initially by saying he wanted to complete a pre-trial Substance Abuse Education and Treatment Prevention Program to help get back on track.
His trial was supposed to start June 23 but TMZ obtained court documents that show that on June 2nd Marcus’ lawyers asked to reschedule, so he could have more time for plea negotiations. The prosecutors did not oppose the motion and it was granted with a new trial date set for September.
While the trial has been moved back, it looks like Marcus has remained focused on “living well.” In May, he shared that he had reached his 40-day sobriety milestone. However, he hasn’t felt brave enough to allow public comments on his social media yet, which is probably for the best.
Real Housewives of Miami airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. The show streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
TELL US – DO YOU THINK IT WAS FAIR TO GET HIS TRIAL DATE MOVED BACK? OR SHOULD MARCUS HAVE JUST FACED THE MUSIC THIS JUNE?
