In the Season 7 premiere of The Real Housewives of Miami, Lisa Hochstein’s boyfriend, Jody Glidden, made a comment about going to another room to get “some AC.” For some strange reason, a bunch of viewers jumped to the conclusion that AC must be some sort of new slang term for cocaine.
We know this could have been a salacious subplot, but it’s simply not true. Lisa and Jody took to Instagram to shut down the rumors. AC means what it has always meant: air conditioning.

A Housewives fan account with nearly 70,000 followers on Instagram posted a picture of the couple along with the cocaine theory. That was enough for Lisa to chime in. She dropped a lengthy comment under the post to set the record straight.
“Jody and our non-cast friends were hanging out in our primary suite and lounge area which we use as a common space with friends and family,” Lisa explained. “They were not crowded in some solitary bathroom.”
She added, “Our friends did not want to be filmed, so they sought out privacy in our hangout spot. Any implication beyond that reality is completely false and upsetting. And for the record: AC = Air Conditioning – something essential in Miami!”
Elsewhere in the comments, Jody posted an even longer message to fans accusing him of using cocaine. He wrote. “Sigh… I live in Miami and I’m a grown man. If I were doing that, who cares? It’s probably a safe assumption for 50% of Miami.”
Jody went on to echo what Lisa said. He confirmed that people who didn’t want to be on camera were going to their private suite to enjoy the party, far away from the cameras. That’s where the cool air was, not the cocaine.
“Production already said the scene wasn’t meant to imply that and that it was added just to explain why I wasn’t in the room during the argument,” Jody continued. “Spoiler: I’m barely ever in any group scenes because this isn’t my thing. I’m there to support Lisa, not get pulled into chaos.”
