Meghan Markle on viral dance video: ‘a real, authentic, fun life’

On June 4, Meghan Markle took to her Instagram to celebrate her daughter Lilibet’s fourth birthday. She went on to share a video of her dancing from the delivery room with her husband, Prince Harry. In the throwback clip, a pregnant Markle is seen shaking a leg with the Duke of Sussex. She captioned the post, “Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work — there was only one thing left to do!”

In no time, the dance video ended up going viral, with fans going gaga over Markle and her husband’s chemistry. The former actor has now been candid about the unfiltered moment at the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast. The host revealed how one needs “to be authentic.” The mom of two echoed her statement by asking, “Did you see my ‘Baby Momma’ dance?” before bursting into laughter.

Grede also shared how her family ended up watching the dance video, “maybe like 20 times yesterday.” She added on her reaction, “I was like, is that, is that her? Is that Prince Harry there with the fingers. I was like, okay, okay, good on Harry, let’s go. But that’s you, right? Like that’s you in a way that we kind of haven’t been able to see you before.”

Grede continued how she admired Markle’s “happiness,” “honesty,” and “I don’t give a f—” attitude while dancing from the delivery room. Markle revealed that the viral video was four years old. She continued that the clip was “a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there’s still a whole life, a real, authentic, fun life that’s happening behind the scenes.”
