On Below Deck, the interior crew is not just responsible for cleaning cabins and waiting on charter guests. An important part of their job is keeping up with the boat’s laundry for both passengers and crew.
So when Captain Kerry Titheradge was unable to find his uniform in Season 12, Episode 3, it was a big deal. “Fraser, Fraser—Kerry. I am without uniform, mate,” the captain radioed his Chief Stew, Fraser Olender.
Following a quick search through the laundry room, Fraser found and delivered the captain’s whites, only minutes before the guests’ arrival. “If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself,” steward Rainbeau de Roos commented.
Below Deck’s Captain Kerry is frustrated with his Season 12 crew
Fraser explained that not having the captain’s uniform ready for him was not a good look for the interior. “I’d rather you f*ck up everywhere else [than] with this,” Fraser said.
The message failed to sink in. As the team prepared to serve dinner, Kerry called Fraser to his cabin. “What’s wrong with this picture?” he asked, wearing a towel. “Third time today.”
Fraser wasn’t happy. “Girls, I’m going to say this one last time,” he emphasized. “Captain just came to me … in his towel. He hasn’t got his uniform. He’s pissed off.”
Further, “If our team is f*cking up … that’s not on me,” Rainbeau said. “I’m doing my job properly.”
“I can’t think of everything,” Barbara Kulaif deflected. In a confessional, she admitted being “pissed” with herself, since she was “responsible” for the missing uniform.
Additionally, “I’ve been pulled in different directions, doing different things all the time.” I feel like I’m never finishing anything. It all falls on me … This sucks.”
Finally, Fraser told Kerry, “Captain, I really apologize … I’m not happy about it at all. I’m really pissed.” Holding himself to a high standard, Fraser has been compared to fan-favorite Kate Chastain.
Regardless, as chief stew, Fraser is ultimately responsible. “In interior, if even a plug is two degrees off center, it’s on me,” he said in his own confessional. “I guess I just need to continue not relying on anyone and telling everyone, everything.”
To quote Rainbeau, “If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.”
Below Deck airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
