Meghan Markle’s As Ever Email Hints Brand Has Become Sales-Focused: ‘Expert’

Meghan Markle recently announced a restock of products from her brand, As Ever, through a new newsletter. As reported by the Daily Mail, an “expert” believes that there has been a massive shift in the messaging tone. The news came after reports of the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry losing staff members began to swirl on the internet.

Meghan Markle’s brand, As Ever, is reportedly shifting from its “emotional origin story.” It is allegedly bringing a tone of “operational scale” to the forefront. Products of the brand are reportedly in stock this week. Per the Daily Mail, the Duchess of Sussex revealed the news in an email to customers.

The email read, “First off, a sincere thank you for making the debut of As Ever absolutely extraordinary.” It continued, “We had a feeling there would be excitement, but to see everything sell out in less than an hour was an amazing surprise.” It further read, “We are pleased to share that on June 20, we’re going live with the products you love – plus, some new delicious surprises.” The email also added, “More details and exact timing will be shared soon.”

According to the news outlet, the new email was quite different from Meghan Markle’s first email for As Ever. Sarah Schmidt, the president of PR firm Interdependence and a celebrity publicist, shared her thoughts with the Daily Mail. She gave her take on the matter, highlighting the shift in tone. Schmidt said, “Meghan’s first As Ever newsletter was poetic and intimate.” She continued, “It positioned the brand as an extension of her personal rituals and values, written in the voice of someone building a lifestyle, not just selling a product.”

The celebrity publicist further explained, “The latest email, by contrast, is pure transaction.” Sarah Schmidt continued, “Short, strategic, and sales-focused.” “And that pivot is telling,” the “expert” added.
